I think it’s my bias of watching Elanga previously tear us to shreds on the counter that has me the most frustrated with him. He was decent today, I agree and would honestly be over the moon if he were able to have more goal involvements. He made some decent tackles and blocks in our half too.

Chelsea were leaving acres of space in the midfield too. Elanga had so much room when he came on and still he squandered most of his opportunities. Cucurella backing off him a few times and giving him a channel to run down near the sideline. So frustrating.

In defence of Elanga, there’s a slight tug on him allowing floppy hair to catch up to him. Brilliant throw by Ramsdale to release him up the pitch.

THIS! The link up between our wingers and midfield is honking at the moment. The scum yesterday could move up the pitch effectively while we were nullified for most of the match.

I’m torn between Eddie’s tactics being long in the tooth or they should be more effective but the players he puts out there aren’t able to execute. Outside of Bruno, who carries this team on his back, we’ve lost our intensity, guile and haven’t imposed ourselves against opposition away from home in a season and a half in the league.
