  1. This isn't me being negative cos I believe we'll do it; but the stuff pre-Villa about how only a total collapse would deny us CL was a bit mad. It's so close; a really good side is gonna finish 7th.
  2. Pleased to see Leeds back. Can't knock Burnley either... 15 goals conceded at this stage is laughably good. Give iz ya keeper.
  3. York City drop points and Barnet win so only a miracle means that'll be 2nd and 1st respectively. Will try and get to York's home semi... pity, as I would've very much liked to have rooted for Gateshead in the play-offs.
  4. Bradford absolutely dying to chuck promotion away; surrendered a three-goal lead today.
  5. All of the playoff contenders losing and all of the relegation pack winning is pure Coca-Cola.
  6. Teams in the opening post. If anyone else would still like to take part, it's certainly not too late. See you next weekend. 😃
  7. Chelsea will get CL because they are always and will always be absolutely free of consequences.
  8. A nice relaxing five games to go.
  9. Results are always all that matter, really, but at this stage of the season it's particularly true. Positive trends, team chemistry, xG, performances - whatever metrics your want to use to forecast long-term success - are secondary to just getting over the line. We've put in some very, very hard yards this season - they've earned the right to win ugly if that's what it takes.
  10. Kinnear. Think there was Houllier too.
  11. Including the fucking manager Only NUFC. Just surprised this didn't happen last season.
  12. Played 112 games since the beginning of last season, with fuck knows how many long haul flights to and from South America, including for Copa America. It's a miracle he's still moving at this point, let alone playing decent football.
  13. Team selection was a tough one there, like. If the players all appeared fit to play, it's tough to change a team that's been playing so brilliantly. Think the issue was more tactical anyway, as KI says. Worth emphasising that their subs won it; they've recruited so well and Emery's getting great performances out of one or two unfancied players. Rogers in particular is absolutely superb and I thought McGinn, Kamara and Watkins were all brilliant too. Painful one. The run was always gonna end at some point and I'm worried about the boss not being around to pick up the pieces. Big game next week now.
  14. Villa flying and probably felt like they owed us one. We were very poor in that second half mind. Just beat Ipswich now and try not to EMBARRASS yourselves again.
  15. Now we're embarrassing again apparently. was a nice break
  16. Hey ho. Just need to bounce back next week.
  17. Annoying that we didn't try and change anything on that right hand side. Oh well. Come on, we'll get a chance.
  18. Gordon for Murphy looks appealing from a defensive point of view but the lad is a goal (involvement) machine. Wouldn't be rushing into anything at this point, he just needs to get deeper. There was times in the first half against Palace where he was at full-back in the line and Trippier was wide of him. Looked solid as fuck and we could do with that now.
  19. Interesting half. Pretty even contest though we're definitely second best; not by a lot though. It was a jammy fucker of a goal that put them in front. We've got problems on our right hand side. Tripps, Murphy and Schär all ropey. Tonali obviously didn't cover himself in glory for the goal either. Could go either way, this.
