  1. I agree totally. Add it to the list of absolutely shite things about modern football. NB. I actually have a list. I decided to jot it all down at the start of the season as a therapeutic exercise, it was good. Observe terrible handwriting:
  2. If we progress in the EFL Cup we'll have nine fixtures in December (eight if we don't); followed by the FA Cup R3 game. I wish it was a higher priority but the reality is it just isn't, and sadly it's going to be all but totally castrated when the PL buys it. It wasn't as if we played wall-to-wall reserves against Sheff Wed mind. Dubravka, Botman, Longstaff, Joelinton, Murphy and Isak all started.

    England

Yeah I've hated the last three, especially the one where we got to the final. Booooring!
  4. It's nothing like All or Nothing either. It's literally just NUFCTV with an Amazon budget, with a significant focus on how Staveley, Ghodoussi, Eales and Silverstone operate, as opposed to the first team. It's also 100% wall-to-wall "isn't Newcastle United wonderful?" like, to an unrealistic extent. But my advice is to say "fuck it," switch your brain off and soak in the content. It's easy to be cynical but I think you can choose not to be in this case.
  5. The funniest of the rinse-and-repeat comments are the ones which say "thanks for being fair/balanced."
  6. Nah, it's nothing remotely like Sunderland til I Die. It's a PR piece rather than anything 'warts n all.' There's very little access to the day-to-day football side of the club.
  7. Gobshite Life is the worst of the worst. He's as smug as he is thick. The head-patting, "ahm just askin questions," "I'm terribly reasonable," shtick isn't fooling anyone with a couple of braincells. Crease that he's begging people not to post anything other than rapturous applause in his comments by asking everyone to read his essay in the description. I said earlier this week that that John Hird fella doesn't seem like a natural at all this, but I don't blame him whatsoever for turning his back on brainless, incendiary-masked-as-reasonable questions like "what is sportswashing, John?" TOUGH questions!! apparently. Pull the other one, Eddy, you stupid dickhead.
  8. Yeah, the amount of quality there is there, surely it's just a case of finding the right tactical blend and then we'll be away. I thought the three of them were going to be unbeatable after Villa. Easy to forget that was only three games ago; the way they helped each other out defensively and worked together in an attacking sense was majestic.
  9. He did score the killer goal at Southampton shortly after tbf.
  10. Definitely not. He peaked in August/September time in 2022. Wee'un and the Palace penalty miss is the point at which the curve went in the opposite direction. Chelsea (h) he wasn't great and then it was the World Cup. Still, I don't think his performances have been bad this calendar year by any means, he just hasn't sparkled as much as he did in his opening spell. I also genuinely think there's a sense that people have got used to/have stopped noticing his general quality; his baseline is still very high. I thought he was excellent against Liverpool for instance until that maddening pass which led to their winner.
  11. Does this essentially just mean we've received a £60million cash injection from the owners?
  12. Great stuff. Look forward to some rib-tickling VAR chat. Would you be up for playing in the morning? I'd say you could run the line and get in touch with the old ways but there's no offsides in 7-a-side!
  13. Embarrassingly short list. For matches SJP Croft Park Stadium of Light Valley Parade Elland Road Bootham Crescent LNER Stadium (York) McCain Stadium (Scarborough) Pride Park For non-matches San Siro (tour) Millennium Stadium (Subbuteo) Heysel (ditto) John Smiths Stadium (gig)
  14. Given the confirmed squad list is 25 and counting, we're definitely looking at three teams. Last time we were up to three, it was Blues, Blacks and Whites, with the Blacks winning. Will throw it out there if anyone wants to suggest an alternative dress code. Will do the draw a week or two before the day.

It doesn't need to "change everything." Fans just deserve an explanation if they're going to suffer from this bullshit. Should be immediately after the game. Dunno why they don't already; think of the content/clicks/views.
  16. Props to the 'NUFC supporters against sportswashing' lads and bollocks to any daft fuckers too thick to understand their cause, but Christ they could do with a more engaging figurehead. 15 minutes straight of pure waffle.
  17. This is why I have absolutely zero issue with it. I never wanted a Saudi leg-up anyway.

Not given because the VAR adjudged Onana and the Wolves player to be a 'collision' as opposed to a late challenge from Onana.
  19. Man Utd is such a minging club these days. @Froggy how far away are you from our late Pardew/Bruce era levels of apathy? Not a loaded question, it's fine if the answer is "not close at all."
