  1. They can have him for £30m and Messi in return. people would just moan about messi being a s*** crosser If Messi had a monumental flaw in his game, he wouldn't be as good as he is. I can't see why people complaining about a winger being unable to score or cross is seen as moaning? It's critical...! Messi's crossing is actually pretty poor for a player of his calibre. tbh, South American players aren't brought up in the way British players are....their game is more playing on the deck, quick short passes etc.....not the British traditional winger culture so to speak of sticking to the wing, getting to the byline and putting in high crosses.
  2. Advocat sacked by Zenit St Petersburg. If he wants a challenge....... then......

  10. for those that didnt see the quote Kinnear makes Magpies claim Joe Kinnear claims he has been offered a two-year contract by Mike Ashley to resume his role as Newcastle manager. Kinnear said the offer was put to him two weeks ago but he told the club's owner he would not be able to return to work for at least three months. He told Five Live: "It is something I am mulling over. In the meantime if Newcastle feel the need to go and get another manager then so be it."
  11. instantly less of a title contender now IMO. Mascherano/Xabi Alonso in central midfield was an excellent partnership. Not convinced an injury prone Aquilani would improve on Xabi
  12. Looks like one of those Dubai hotels.
  13. Sousa reveals his weekly calls to ‘huge loss’ Sir Bob PAULO SOUSA has revealed how he called Sir Bobby Robson every week for the last 18 months as the man who managed him at Sporting Lisbon in the early nineties battled cancer. The Swans boss was paying tribute to Sir Bobby, whose death on Friday at the age of 76 sent the football world into mourning. The former England supremo signed Sousa for Sporting in the summer of 1993 and the pair never lost touch. Sousa said: “I was shocked and deeply saddened by Sir Bobby’s death, “He earned the right to be called Sir because of the recognition he had throughout world football from players, supporters, directors etc. “My sadness hurts even deeper because I tried to call him on Thursday. “I have called him on a weekly basis for the last 18 months to see how he is and to give him my support in his battle against illness. “The way Sir Bobby fought against his illness was the same way he lived his life on a daily basis as a player and a manager — with enthusiasm, emotion, passion and courage. “Sadly he didn’t answer my last call and today I realised why there was only silence. His loss is huge and impossible for his friends, family and football to repair. I want to send my condolences to his family and friends and join the tributes pouring in from all over the footballing world. “I hope he rests in peace because he was one of the best managers I have ever known and one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to meet. His image and memory will remain with me forever.”
  14. was just about to mention Luis Enrique too....great player IMO....surprised no one else mentioned him. Would have Romario ahead of Shearer. Laurent Blanc and Barjuan Sergi, both class players under Sir Bobby too.
  15. how would you compare Krul with Forster? Both seem to be highly rated....is Krul way ahead of Forster in your opinion? Dont see much of the reserves to make a fair comparison of the 2.
  16. neither have Tozer or Kadar amongst many other players but have all got wiki pages

  20. Jose Mourinho: Sir Bobby Robson Was A Man Of Great Passion The Portuguese, who worked alongside the Geordie legend at Barca, has paid tribute to the great man... Inter coach Jose Mourinho has expressed his sadness upon hearing of Sir Bobby Robson's death, and he has paid tribute to a footballing legend. Sadly, Robson lost a long battle with cancer and died at the age of 76 earlier today. Mourinho learned his trade from the legendary manager during their days together at Barcelona. The Inter coach has now paid tribute to a special man. A statement from Mourinho on the club's official website reads: "I didn't speak with him [Robson] for the last two months because I was in difficulty. "I was in difficulty because I didn't want to think that he was about to finish. It was not the image I wanted to take with me. "It wasn't the voice I wanted to hear. I will always remember the Bobby Robson who had passion for life and football and who always had enthusiasm. "Bobby Robson is one of those people who never die for all that they have given to people like myself, who had the fortune to walk by his side. My thoughts are with all of his dearest.",
