Being fucked around by the club in the past doesn't wash as justification for wanting to leave, to be honest. He's had several windows to kick up a stink. AND, in terms of ownership / board / management, it's a different club now. He's had his head turned by talk of Liverpool, IMO.

really??? 27? Born 25 October 1981. 26 then

I honestly think that KK / the board are in complete control of this situation. Firmly believe this has been going on for 1 month+. Milner makes noises about new contract - board says nothing doing, so he makes it clear he wants to leave (without putting a request in) KK bigs him up in the media, CONSTANTLY, for two - three weeks. 'Last player we want to sell', etc. Milner's stance stays the same. Management leave it until now to give him an ultimatum i.e. you must hand in a transfer request and waive your loyalty bonus. KK comments in media, 'time running out, not sure if we'll get anyone in, etc' - just further mutterings to bump up the price. Even if we can't get a replacement in, evrything is in place to ensure silly money, IMHO.

I agree with the principle, but who thought we'd get Duff for £5m at the time? Chelsea don't need the cash, and if Cole did want to leave...
-
Despite the fact that he's a little bitch bell-end, if Joe Cole's going anywhere for £10m we should be in for him.

Brilliant reply Apologies, a more detailed reply for you. First off, to worry that Owen has a long term injury (8 weeks +) after missing three weeks, as stated in your OP, is a little bit OTT. He's only just missed out on tomorrow's game, so chill out. More to the point, after the last three years, I'm past worrying. Whatever we get out of Owen, I view as a bonus. Owen will get injured again, or miss games through illness. Mentioned in another thread that he is taking immuno-supressants following his knee op? Wouldn't be surprised if he misses most of the winter with viruses!

Get some sleep, Decky.

Got this in an e-mail at work yesterday - laughed so hard I thought I was gonna get sacked!

'Micksta' clearly = Ashley! The ultimate ITK......

Perpetually linked with Real Madrid, isn't he? Can't be bad.
-
F*** me. How long is his contract for? If it's long term, it's his own f***ing fault!

Not a bad shout. 100% strike rate for England(!) Seriously though, reckon we could even convince Pompey into a loan deal to have a proper look at him. Only reason he is digging his heels in and not moved so far this summer will be 1. the ca$h and 2. not wanting to drop a division (the two obviously going hand in hand).

True, he's been on the slide for some time. Nothing against the bloke, but for what he offers on those wages, he simply has to go. Do we actually need a replacement?

Tabloid talk of a move to Everton seems unlikely, given our current injury, fitness and recruitment issues, which means he looks being "wor Al" for some time to come. On that basis we're resolving to accentuate the positive where Smith is concerned and give him every possible encouragement on the field. You're welcome to join us - and hopefully he might respond by even having the odd shot when in the vicinity of the opposition goal... Not rallying support as such. A veiled request to not boo when his name is read out on Wednesday. Quite right too.

Well, he certainly wasn't a defensive one.....

If you could PM me next Saturday's winning Lottery numbers, that would be grand.

The question is whether he has the capability to change. I don't think he does and I don't think he really wants to. IMO we don't need to be associated with the likes of him and we should as painlessly as possible get rid. On what are you basing that assumption? From what you have read in the press, there is a whole thread devoted to what people think of them or have you spoken to him or his therapists councillors or whoever it is treating him for his anger management. Barton's involvement with Sporting Chance surely shows a willingness to change? If he flat out didn't want to even try, he wouldn't be affiliated with them. didn't he have to go as a condition of his bail ? He's been involved with them for ages, a good couple of years at least. Remember seeing him on Focus (fishing?) and talking about the charity a lot. Seem to remember the bail condition relating to him having to report in at the clinic, or to Peter Kay's local cop shop, or something? Not sure.... So the advice they gave wasn't to beat someone unconcious outside a mcdonalds at 5 in the morning after being on the piss' all day, despite Newcastle being in the middle of a hard run of games ? I am surprised. Not as simple as that though, is it? The boy isn't right in the head, that's why he went there in the first place.

Would be interested to hear what people's opinions of Duncan Ferguson are / were on a moral level. Surely this is the same situation, except that Barton is on our books when the incident which he has been serving time for took place. Or is it different that Dunc was a big Scotsman and Joey a little bitch Scouser?

As long as its not 5:15 I'll be happy. Would rather Sunday 4pm, but I can't see them leaving the current champs and their successors until then Did Man Utd not play their first game on Sunday afternoon last year v Reading? Can see them shifting it here again.

Anyone who knows anyone who's half brother's cousin works at a football club can get hold of the fixture list a couple of hours before it comes out. Divvent worry, the guy's full of it.
