...think of your lifesytle, your house, the walks on the beach...I don't think he understands what it will be like...

...knew I shouldn't have gone out for a beer...fuck.

And Diarra... And African players like Martins. Look there are 2 clubs with 'goodish' managers Ashley can impose himself on financially..Pompey and Burn. Two managers who are perhaps thinking they have reached the limit of their budgets, add into the mix the personal rigmarole about horse racing, lads beers, banter and the media are hoping it is 'Arry cause it is an easy story and they don't really want us to ever be successful. Let's wait and see who is announced as manager before we get on this train.

Someone(s) of Skunkers. I can't belive this can be true. If it is Ashley clearly hasn't thought through the Sammy Dice sacking and this is him just panicking and phoning his mates with blank cheque books. Dissapointing if true. On the contrary, I reckon this has been the plan all along, just a case of picking the right moment. Personally, assuming it does happen, I think Newcastle could be starting on their most successful spell since Keegan's days........... and Keegan only got close to winning things. With money available I think Redknapp is a winner. Give me an idea what you're basing this on? I'm not arguing I just want to see what you think.

Greet him in your dressing gown and flash your goldfish shirt at him when he lands, i doubt we'll see him again. mackems.gif

Sounds like a betting scam to me... *laughs* However I've heard a lot of good things about Joe Jordan as a coach.

Haven't read the thread. Who are the mofo ITK's?

<<<<<<<< After Mourinho he's be my 2nd choice. Born leader. Tactically sound. Changed German football. Excellent communicator. Would automatically have players respect. Understands Euro footie and good Euro contacts. Played in Italy, Germany and England under seminal coaches. If I was choosing I'd go for Klinsmann if Mourinho said no. Was sounded out for the Spurs job is destined for the Bayern Job and will be Inter coach oneday.

That would be making the assumption that Ashley and Mort have good knowledge of the game. They remain unproven, so you can't say how good or bad the appointment is going to be. You could also argue that their limited knowledge of the game will make them say "lets get Mourinho here" rather than thinking "hmmm Hughes sounds alright" Plus, who's to say they know less than most on here, who all would like the big foreign names. They would take advice.

Agreed. And I can't see that it was a snap descision with no back up plan and then start faxing the locals asking the question....Can't see it. Too amateurish.

...make MA look like a Bufoon.

Moyes would be a bigger bore than Sammy Dice. Shelf life - one term.

it's the kind of move and ambitious young manager would make, going from a small club to a big team with huge potential. but i'm not sure redknapp is that kind of manager, he's a few years off retirement, loves the area, is settled, has everything he wants in terms of backing, money, support from the stands and job security and has built a good team. if he was ten years younger i could see it, just depends how tempted he is with the chance to make a name for himself rather than just comfortably seeing out his career. He'll be retiring in 3/4 years...Can't see it.

Two 5th places followed by his departure when the team was in the bottom 3. Anyway, with your ownership and his associates, there is absolutely no way Jol would get offered the job (imho). Agree. What you reckon Klinsmann?

sorry again, but I don't really care how they do things in the USA

3 new straws. Kelmsley had a beer with Klinsmann in the Gatwick Hilton 3 weeks ago. Pini Zhavi is mates with Roman and Jose and associates of Ashley. 'Arry missed training last week and was in London all day. 'Arry is much fancied by Kelmsley who wanted him at Spurs. Think positive my dears. Dreams win prizes.
-
the thoughts in germany are that klinsmann got the best out of an already set up coaching set up and wasn't that astute himself. (the current german manager whose name i cant remember being the brains behind it) Rubbish.

Money is no object.

The worst thing about all this is that Carr has survived another manager.

Hughes is more likely to leave Burn (he frustrated at the lack of cash) than Harry is to leave Pompey. The way the money and performance is at Pompey and his house on the coast, can't see the attraction for 'Arry to come here. Also he retires in 3 years. He would need to bring Jordan and Adams who between them take a lot of the training. I would be mildly dissapointed with either of them, but could convince myself over time that it was in the stars or summat. I stil hold out hope it is 'the big one'.

I also think Parky is impossible. Dreams win prizes.

The head says Hughes. (Gettable and getting bored at Burn). The heart says Mourinho. (There is just something mad enough about him to take us on). I have a strong feeling it is a big name though and I wouldn't discount an imaginative appointment such as Lippi or Klinsmann.
