Not a huge amount but am going off the principle that if Ashley can afford to pay off debt (that is perfectly acceptable for Arse/Man U/Liverpool/Chelsea to carry in far bigger proportions) then he can afford £20m to give Allardyce a couple of decent attacking players. Do you think Sven would be doing better with our current lot? Or Moyes? I think the squad is a bit shit and most teams above us have one or two key players that make them tick that we dont. Long term its hard to say about Allardyce but i think people have poor judgement about our players if they think we have a Muntari, an Elano or an Arteta. We dont and these players are the ones sticking the points on the board for those teams. Anyone who thinks our players are good enough to challenge the top 6 needs their head looked at. These are same lads who think Milner is decent btw. Spot on Chezvinder.

Is that a trick question?

He'll leave if he doesn't get money this January to fund an ambitious title assualt or he'll get sacked if they end up with nowt at the end of the season, or anything other than the CL or League or both. He was brought in to mount a proper championship challenge and they aren't any nearer nearly three years later. They've been spending goodish amounts of cash as well. The real problem lies in his overly defensive style, which is alright for the odd cup run but long term the supporters have grown tired of it and its ability to deliver the big one. He's not defensive, it's that until Torres, he hadn't bought an attacking player that has any business in a top 4 side. We have as many shots on goal over a season as nearly any other team in the league, but our shots:goals ratio has been more in line with relegated sides. The best attacking performance from any of our strikers or wingers since Rafa arrived was the season spent on the wing by the central midfielder he inherited. With his fetish for central midfielders and organisation, we can dominate games against Europe's biggest sides, but we don't have the attacking quality to break down the best sides or take our chances against weaker opposition. Fair comment. Your shots on goal ration suffers probably cause Gerrard shoots from anywhere at least 6 times a game. When will he get the boot?

You've convinced me, I demand he goes straight back in the side.

Man Utd reject Newcastle bid for Wes Brown - SSN
Parky replied to WarrenBartonCentrePartin's topic in Football
Wes is a bit miffed Ferdinand is on a reported £105,000 a week and he's been offered £50,000. He'll be looking for a big signing on fee and guaranteed first team footie which he won't get at ManU next year. -
There is never really a bad time to buy quality players if they are available.

Glad you put a smiley on that ..! I have ALWAYS thought he wasn't a top striker, nor ever would be... Not sure who exactly on here thought we had purchased a 'top striker'? Oh, there were some. Not you, though. You focussed your madness on spelling out how great our chances were of finishing above Arsenal, and in the process, fighting with Spurs for 4th place. I have a tendancy to start the odd uplifting thread. You should try it sometime ringo. lol

It would be difficult to match Cruyff's arrogance. Still a consultant at Barca you know. blueyes.gif If I was as good as Cruyff was I'd probably be just as arrogant tbf. His last ever season proved that man, Ajax got rid as thought he was past it, thought ah na I'll show them, goes to Feyenoord and brings them the title. If you haven't get this... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ajax-Barcelona-Cruyff-Frits-Barend/dp/0747543054

Failed quite badly somewhere...Where was it?

Could turn in a performance almost anywhere on the park. blueyes.gif Cruyff had it right when he said Gullit had all the ability but Rijkaard was a deeper thinker on the game.

How old is he now Baggy?

Good call. But really? He took over a Lyon already massively superior to the other teams in the french league. Do you think he wants a crack on the premier league again? CAn he do it without a massive budget? Bring him in as a DOF with Klinsmann the manager.. Parky? I'd go for that obviously. Not German the wife is tho. That's funny, she tells everyone her wife is English. Yeah but I won the rug battle. I don't want to know. The stripey carpet she ordered and I threw away.

Wouldn't say massive, but yes he had a strong role, more on the training pitch. Klinsmann would probably want to bring him with him then, wouldnt he? Or am i mistaken if i say that löw is now managing germany? Klinsi has a myriad of contacts in the game if he wanted a No.2 it wouldn't have to be Low by any means. Van Basten is coming along nicely as well. He probably has. But i'd imagine he would want someone he has worked with in the past, and actually had success with. For some reason i dont like van Basten. Dont think he would be successful here anyway. Louis van Gaal? Had tricky periods. Not getting any younger. Clearly better than SA mind. :-[

Read something recently about how Low did all the work and Klinsmann just put the media friendly face on it all. Think that's an exagerration. Klinsi is credited and deservedly so for turning the German side into a watchable and attacking unit again. Low is a good coach mind....IMO Klinis will end up at a top club sooner or later. Massive appetite for the game now he's had a little break.

I wouldn't let you down. You know it. :icon_queen:

I disagree with you. Both Klinsmann and Laudrup has tons of experience, playing top football not too long ago. Laudup did wonders in his own country (Bröndby, Denmark). Klinsmann, well, Germany went pretty long in the last World Cup, didnt they? I cant say i know all that about them, but what i do know is that they are both relatively young, they are still learning but most importantly, they know how to play good football. Klinsmann has the right persona for us as well. Supremely confident and tactically smarter than a sewer rat.

Do I detect a thinly disguised agenda here Coachie?
