Sorry Stozo (have you lost the happy pills I gave you) this is absolutely the correct time to make the change. The board have been totally pro-active and responded to the changing environment (ie Allardyce resignation). They were probably wanting to hold onto till the summer, but the incidents and the performance against Blackburn has drawn a line under that. Infact it is widely accepted we spoke to the reps of SGE around 3/4 weeks ago and this is further indication for me anyway that this time it has been thought through. What better than to give the new man the whole summer and pre-season. Have faith my dear.....Accept the dawning of the new light.

It's not the "success" of last year's World Cup that makes Klinsmann an attractive option, but rather the work he has done with the German national team in the two years leading to it. He has totally revamped the German national team in every sense. German football was stuck in the past, Klinsmann brought in new methods, new people and laid a new foundation to the team that his successor (and former assistant) does profit from. Imho Klinsmann could be an as inspirational choice as Keegan back then. He is obviously a big risk. But what from what I've seen from Klinsmann he would try to install a professional set up at the club that would both pay off short and long term. Klinsi would be an interesting choice.

This is the key appointment. For what it's worth I think he will get it right. It's not about turnover btw its about profit.

His.. er.. hoensty, was it? Dignity? I don't know, people throw a lot of stuff around anyway. The guy would still be here if it was solely down to him. I've no doubt whatsoever he had pressure applied on him. You only had to read what he said after the game on Saturday, to see how deluded he actually is. He wanted to go nowhere, he was made to go. Should've resigned sooner, should have never taken the job and stuck to his original word. I'd have thanked him for either one of those, but not for "resigning", now. One game left. Aye, cheers, Glenn, I appreciate you. Exactly.

Unecessary really. Everyone and his cat knew he was an average manager doing a 'holding job'.

Why dont you just mention Guillit then you ve done the rounds Eh?
-
What exactly was there to appreciate?

He talked himself into the job as well, when probably his gut instinct was that he wasn't good enough. Muppet and grossly imcompetant. I really don't know where all this nice guy stuff comes from.

That sounds most likely to me Agreed. blueyes.gif

THIS IS the critical appointment. What happens next will echo in history.

*Stock market rules: Earliest possible opportunity*. The media being informed is enough for now. It is only against the rules to do these things in secret and buy shares before telling anyone.

Your last post tbh. Let loose the winged serpent Dave.

I think you read too much into the media driven mini-typhoon around Beckham. But for a couple of bits of bad luck ie Owen's injury I think we could have made the final. Owen and Rooney injury, Rooney didnt look fully fit. True. Tbh there are only 2 better managers in the PL compared to Sven.

I don't know why people are turning their noses up at the diligent Swede. Is it cause he lacks charisma? 90% of the managers in the PL aren't great conversationalists or particularly good in front of the media. Sven has an impressive CV and has imo has an excellent knowledge of the European game if not the world game. He must have a contact list second to none around Euro and is well versed in all the fitness and psychology of the modern game although he prefers the quietly quietly approach - his will to win can't be doubted. For an internatioanlly travelled and widely successful manager to come from the football minnows of Sweden (back in the day) and end up managing and winning in Serie A.....He must have something about him. What say you? He's ruled himself out for at least a year and a half. He wants to get his badges and finish his BBC deal first.
