  1. Been poor since he got the armband. Probably looking at what happened to his predecessor!
  2. I don't want to see Shola on because it would pander to Hangeland even more than we are already. We don't need to be playing high balls into the box, yet we've resorted to it occasionally - to absolutely no avail. We have the capabilities to pass it around and create chances - which we've done with success. We've just not converted to them and today you've got to hold Cisse accountable to that; one-two with Marveaux and that's 1-0. See your point but if Shola was in the mood (stars alligned and alll that) then it might just unsettle Hangeland a bit. Even if he just won a couple of headers all we'd need is a player to be up close to get the knock downs. Simples! Well, he'll be on sooner or later whether we like it or not. Going from Pards pre match comments I def think it's in his game plan to bring him on this afternoon at somepoint.

  4. Hopefully JC was handing out ear plugs as the players walked in to the changing room.
  5. We've been okay and just okay. Knocking the ball around okay at times then resorting to stupid long/over the top balls. Get to the edge of their area and just break down. Can't seem to attack as a unit. This might be the lack of medication speaking but a pumped up Shola could bring something useful to us.
  6. Crap game to watch so far. Wonder if it stays like this will Pards go for the 3 points or see it as 1 point gained given his pre match comments.
  7. I don't disagree with the posts. I'm arguing with myself here! Suppose I just find it a bit OTT when we talk about him sometimes. Easily the most talented/exciting player in the squad but think he's got a bit to do yet before he gets offered the keys to wor lass' chastity belt.
  8. But somehow he's hero worshipped?
  9. Thanks. So either way he's saying he's going to be going out for the win on Sunday for two reasons a) premiership survival and b) build momentum for the 2nd leg. Will be interesting to watch his team/tactics on Sunday.
  10. Just watched his interview on NUFC TV "....shown enough tonight that we can cause them problems but think we're going to have to win on Sunday to get the momentum for our fans and for our players as well......" Am I mis-interpreting that? Was winning on Sunday optional like?
  11. Pards had basically written this game off before it started. Obviously one eye on Benfica and the other on the 'winnable' games against Fulham and the unwashed coming up.
  12. But why though? Not getting at you but why is NUFC playing away at a Man City team who haven't really hit the heights that often this season a predictable arse raping? Wonder what other teams were thinking when they headed here to play. Why is it always us that play right in to the script for the opposing team (e.g. wigan's revival fightback last time etc.)? Most I would have thought given they have better players this season and have only lost 1nce at home in 2 seasons. Okay, good point, suppose what I'm getting at is the difference between an 'arse raping' (which we always seem to suffer) or a hard fought 1-0 loss. Our fans might as well not bother to head to away games.

  14. Man City like this are 'irresistable' we had planned to play with *ben arfa* but due to injury had to change our entire game plan, if we had got a goal when it was 2-0 then it would have been a 'different' game the international break didn't do us any good etc.
  15. It's depressing when all I'm hoping for is that we score one goal, just one measly little goal!
  16. Sky sports earlier was full of the shit that the mackems are in and just noticed we're only 2 points ahead of them.
  17. Was it Roeder that did that once? Came on against the Glasgow IRA supporters in a friendly. That's right... and their fans were livid about it. Saw it as a slap in the face/sign of disrespect.
  18. Thought it was real good goal at first but watched the repeats and it's atrocious from our point of view.
  19. Commentator go and fuck yourself! The ref should be stopping the game for that little runt breaking a toenail? Should he bollocks! Dig a hole and bury the little fucker!
  20. my blood is starting to boil at the thought of his post match interview excuses already.
