  1. Givens fault, that. Bet everyone blames the defender for getting in the way, though.
  2. Ronaldo cries like a baby until he eventually gets what he wants.
  3. Taylor clears again. Putting himself in the shop window.
  4. Taylor! Why did Shay just watch the second shot, though?
  5. Don't know what you're on about. Given that Rooney's had about five clear chances on goal, i'd tend to agree with Felipao. What do you expect? Cacapa is a squad player on a free, he's not Maldini But he's got CL experience, but he was Lyon captain, but he's old, but he's Brazilian, surely he's 'our best defender by a mile' mackems.gif David Batty was that player. If you wanted the ball distributed sideways.
  6. The guy who supposedly wasn't good enough to displace Zoggy at left back takes the ball off Rooney with ease, before turning him inside out and clearing it.
  7. Book him for diving, then. Free-kick was taken from the wrong place anyway.
  8. Cacapa to the rescue twice in a minute.
  9. Is the winner. Or "Get your socks off, get your socks off..." To the tune of 'Rocks' by Primal Scream.
  10. Table based on current scores. http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/2324/tablezr1.jpg
  11. That Ashton is s****, mind. Gettin, pressure on Rafa. Get him in Ashley!

    Official Statement

Saying it's a 'disgrace' is a bit sanctimonious. I don't have to offer unwavering loyalty towards the collection of people - with no prior interest in our region, until they saw a profitable business opportunity - who just happen to own and run the club right now. If they are apparently unwilling or incapable to progress us further - ie. By at the very least appointing managers of equal calibre to the ones currently employed by the top eight clubs* - maybe they should have tried to takeover the likes of the Birmingham, where mediocrity is accepted, albeit by a considerably smaller (and therefore crucially less lucrative) fanbase. *Portsmouth may occupy the eight place, but in the same sense that Wigan and Reading temporarily did. They are not a top eight club, if you get my drift.
  13. it's just possible they have more of a clue than you think. was redkanpp offered the job or did he pull out at the "talks" stage..the statement mentione that they have "spoken to a number of potential candidates" could it be he wasn't actually offered the job but we wanted to talk to him, aswell as others with a view to deciding he would be best for us Maybe you're right, and maybe my expectations are too high; but I'd still be disappointed that they'd considered him as a possibility. He might not be first choice, he might have been their 10th; but the fact is, he was on their list. That alone is galling.
  14. Second choice doesn't make somebody worse, it just makes them second choice for a reason we don't know. Yes, that's true. But that would be by accident rather than design. If they get someone better, it would be because they were lucky, but still clueless.
  15. I don't see how they've failed this "test" yet as we haven't appointed anybody yet. Yes, but that eventual someone will be, by the chairman's admission, inferior to Redknapp. So rather than failing the test by hitting the kerb, he's now mounted the pavement and killed a pedestrian.

    Mark Hughes

Hughes didn't 'rule himself out', he said he hadn't been asked.
