  1. @madrasThis explains your question earlier in a bit more detail than I did. Very good description of Isak as a player
  2. Barely got a sniff there Tbf. Played under 4 managers in three years time, was sent out on loan to Holland where he got his career back on track (scored in 12 games in a row or something) before moving to Sociedad.
  3. Definitely. Wouldn't be launching 50 yard balls to his head though, he's not that typ of target man. He is very good at controlling difficult passes though, similar to Wilson, though Wilson is stronger. Isak has really quick feet, so he is able control most passes. As for teams sitting deep, he will be absolutely loving playing with Bruno and running onto his through balls.
  4. 7 (IIRC) all PL ties in the third round seems quite a lot?
  5. Forgot about that transfer, tough to compare with it being a part swap I guess.
  6. Remember reading that when you first wrote it. Don't subscribe to Expressen anymore (sorry mate, aftonbladet are showing the European qualifiers, had to be them over the summer ), but remember it being a cracking piece on him.
  7. When he first broke through at AIK, I always thought he had a bit of Bergkamp in him. Plays a bit further up the pitch than Bergkamp did, and is faster, but he has that technique to drop deeper and drag defenders out of position. Obviously this is when he was 16 years old and still very, very raw, and he's changed his game a bit since then, but there you go. I've definitely never seen a 16 year old come in and take the absolute piss out of the Swedish league before, that's for sure
  8. I've never seen that guy play, so I wouldn't know Isak making runs for Bruno could be bloody good mind.
  9. Absolutely, that's arguably his best position IMO. His technique and pace makes him an excellent second striker that can drop deep and out wide, stretching the defence. However, I want Howe to stick with the 433 that he's implemented here now, where Isak would be best suited as the number nine, but works just as well on either side Wilson. ASM Wilson Isak is a ridiculous front three like.
  10. Any other sources saying we've agreed terms with Isak? Or is it still mostly just us agreeing terms with La Real?
  11. Isak turned down a move to Real Madrid (just after Ødegaard had went there at a similar age) at the age of 17 to go to Dortmund because of their record of bringing young players on. Of course, it didn't work out well at Dortmund, but shows what kind of character he is.
  12. @AlanSkÃrarehttps://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/fotbolls-em/nar-de-riktigt-stora-klubbarna-kom-da-tappade-man-det/ This is your report on him, right?
  13. But he'd be going to be backup somewhere else if this is true though
  14. I'm fairly confident that I'll have seen more of Isak than most on this board, and the one thing I'm very, very confident about is that Isak will work extremely well with Howe.
  15. Can't believe there are posters on here saying that Darlow is good enough cover as 2nd choice. Us loaning out Dubravka to be second choice behind De Gea makes very little sense from our or his point of view IMO. Man Utd would be getting an incredible keeper for whichever European Cup they are in mind.
  16. Andreas Andersson went from Newcastle to AIK (and by all accounts became a bit of a legend there), Isak will have moved from AIK to Newcastle (via Dortmund and Sociedad). Nice bit of symmetry there, but you'd struggle to find any other similarities between the two as players.
