  1. They're both average, both no better than Barton either. Barton is a psychopath with a current market value of 0, though, that's the problem, regardless of how good a footballer he is (or was, at least). Last summer, NRC, Sidwell and Barton were the three English midfielders on the move, and of those three, Barton must be the worst signing of the three, surely? As for taking Coloccini, he doesn't play for you yet, does he? Would I take Martins? I think he's a good player, but would I replace a striker we have already with him? I'm not too sure. Possibly, I'd give you that. Owen I wouldn't take, no. Not because he's not a good player - he is - but because he's a huge injury risk and would cost a fortune in wages. Put it like this. I can think of lots more Portsmouth, Everton and Spurs players I'd take than Newcastle players right now. That's not me on a wind up or owt (I;'d like to think you'd take my word on that), just honest opinion. Coloccini is more signed than Barry is He's definitely a player that would get in your line-up, I can't see how Sidwell can be deemed as a better signing seen as he though he barely played a game, obviously Reo-Coker was but I was talking on the player alone not the whole package (obviously Barton's a twat) I don't feel any one of them stands out as been better than the other. Fair enough reasons on Owen but if someone gave you the guarantee of having Michael Owen in your squad for next season then I'm sure you'd find it difficult to turn down.

  3. Are you serious? Smith wouldn't even start for us So you wouldn't take Owen? Martins? Coloccini?
  4. Now another day has passed without so much as a word from us, despite it being reported all over the place, I'm convinced there's something else very close that we're waiting on. So I wouldn't be surprised if nothing is said again tomorrow. Depends on the other hypothetical deal. We want to announce a 5 year new deal for Alan Smith at the same time to quash the rumours.
  5. Haha tossers, using Keegan's quotes from last night to bring up another bullshit story.
  6. Fabio Fabioo Why the fuck didn't you go We thought it was done and dusted thank god Bassong's musted We're glad you're happy in Spain Because you wouldn't have liked the rain But now all the mongs are going to moan So you tell your agent to get back on the phone!
  7. Gejon's always hyper when ever I see him post
  8. Yeh it's on their official website.
  9. 19.7m? A lot of money but not a rip off by any means imo. Keane cost about that ffs. I was actually thinking it isn't enough.
  10. It would be pretty annoying if he went, but if we had to lose an area of the team it would be center half as Coloccini's coming in and Bassong hopefully will be a good player in time, already better than Taylor by the looks.
  11. What mix of players is that then? We still probably have the best first 11 outside the top 4. We just need to boost numbers. Who is your starting 11 ? Seriously 1878 what's your starting 11? I'm curious now. Howard Neville Yobo Lescott Baines Rodwell Pienaar Osman Cahill Arteta Yakubu Doesn't look that strong to me, Rodwell? Has he even played a Premiership game?

This is why I'd take him, but only if we have no better options for the 4th striker. I'm sure there must be a youth striker who is a bit better that could do a good job from the bench for us. Smith/Ameobi must be sold before the transfer window closes. Anyone human that isn't physically retarded is better than Smith and Ameobi, we sell Smith, we then go out and buy a player who's capable of challenging the strikers we already have, if not we may aswell keep the useless b******. Smith - at rock bottom in terms of form/performances/ability, zero contribution to the team and in fact looking like being a negative influence as its like playing with 10 men effectively, would command 2-3 mill, 4 year contract on huge wages left to go. Its highly likely that another season like last and he'd be neither playable nor sellable. Healy - half decent forward who will chip in with the odd goal, isnt a complete muppet when it comes to the basics in the game, on the face of it would command a low fee (£1m?) and low wages, could probably be moved on very easily once he's served his purpose, and although we dont know for certain, you'd think he wouldnt be bashing the manager's door down if hes not in the starting lineup every other week. And although this is a tad premature, Healy's international record/performances mean he'd be a handy backup player to have if we were facing small but relatively organised European teams in e.g. the UEFA or Intertoto Cup the season after next. Its a small but certain step forward for me. It'd be nice to sign a young up-n-coming player, but look at our past when we've had injuries and we've thrown promising youngsters in due to an injury crisis on top of having a thin squad. The end result has frequently been them dissappointing or simply looking plain shit. Luis Saha, Guiseppe Rossi and JD Tomasson spring to mind - its not about not having faith in youngsters, but just recognising the circumstances in which it might be better to go for an accomplished, more experienced head who isnt complete dogshit. I'm more interested in his league form than his international form, after all we don't play internationals. I would be worried at the fact Fulham would be letting him go for 1m mark which would suggest he probably isn't that good enough back up for them, is he really decent? I underestimated how shit Smith really was till I saw him play consistently.
  13. My mate who's a Stoke season ticket holder reckons they are close to signing him. i hope not :-[ He's our second best center back after Coloccini.

Can you think of a Striker as good as Oba, Owen or Viduka willing to sit on the bench, its pointless, we'll end with a situation Spurs were in a year back. I never said they had to be as good as, I said someone capable of challenging them, I personally think we need another striker on that level anyway, I can't imagine Viduka playing too many games.

    Sell Smith and buy Healy?
  17. "I met up with Kevin Keegan, but then Terry McDermott joined him and my decision was switched in an instant, he really didn't seem to know what he was talking about. I was interested in Newcastle but that changed my mind and I'm now happy to remain in Spain. Newcastle fans have taken to my friend Jonas Gutierrez, I hope he has a very good time in Newcastle and gets some of the poos, go on Jonas lad.
  18. Aye I was bullshitting, just wanted to see which mongs bought it
  19. "There is some small complications with the deal so I'm unsure whether it will go through but I expect so. I loved my time here in La Coruna, I grew as a player and I thank the management for that. I would also like to give a special mention to the fans who supported me throughout my time and I will never forget the support they gave me in every game."
  20. I was just thinking, relating to the comments KK has been making over the last week on transfers saying definitely two, maybe we're selling Smith as he's already closing in on a replacement?
  21. Just because it hasn't been confirmed, doesn't mean it hasn't been completed. There aren't people waiting around at SJP to tell us about transfers as soon as they come in. It will happen, just be patient man. I know it's going to happen I was just making a point..
  22. Ok then, hypothetically he's had his medical, what's stopping us from announcing it? If both sides have put pen to paper and he's had his medical I don't see why it wouldn't be completed.
  23. He hasn't had his medical mate, no transfer can be completed without that. Enrique, there is no proof that he hasn't had his medical. Deportivo say he is officially a Newcastle player. Surely that must mean he's had a medical. Surely the medical must take place in England, if he's making a press conference in La Coruna today then it's unlikely he's even left the country and if he has completed the medical then I wouldn't understand why we wouldn't have announced it this morning, anyway, he'll be a Newcastle player soon I was just saying until the medical is done he won't be officially ours
