Back to the FFP stuff, if we have around £55m left to spend.. Let's say we buy Chiesa for £50m on a 5 year contract at £160k a week, then he'd cost: 50 / 5 = £10 million a year 160 * 4 * 12 = £7680 Let's call it £18m a year, am I wrong in thinking we could technically buy three Chiesa's? Is that too much of a simplified way of breaking FFP down?

If FFP is split over the length of a contract we can more than replace him for £35m.

My main gripe with ASM isn't his inconsistency, it's the fact he's injured every other game.

If hypothetically our budget was only £75m, then how does the Tonali signing contribute to that? Is it literally just £11m per year for the transfer fee, and then whatever top on wages? Assuming his wages are around £6m a year he's cost us around £17m this season? I'm sure that's wrong as that would leave us with around £55m to spend, which would mean we could sign around another 3 Tonali's.

We all would, unfortunately those players will bring in a sum of fuck all. I guess the idea is if FFP is calculated per year based on contract length then getting £35m for someone like ASM can go a long way to increasing our spending power short term.

Has anyone worked out/broken down what our spending was last season and year before (Based on how FFP works with the spread per year of contract)?

Neville and Carragher are class imo, who would you prefer?

Plus getting Chiesa and Tierney on loan seems very doubtful.
