MAY need to bring in ONE or TWO? fuck me
-
Streete in due course.

I'm really not trying to troll you here, Brummie, but was it really worse than you were at WHL last year? That was one of the most abject performances I've ever seen. That game . I don't think I've seen a less inspired performance from a team ever.
-
He was making us tick quite well. I remember him getting huge amounts of praise on here.
-
He's decent at holding off defenders and riding challenges while trying to shoot. Wrestles himself into opportunities quite a bit.
-
Still the sort of character I'm proud to associate the club with. Hurts like hell to see him decline so rapidly. I think he's one of those who's really suffering from the collective drop of confidence. He's not THIS bad. His performances at CM towards the end of last season were terrific and not reliant on his physique.
-
His movement suits the nr 9 role in a team that plays it on the deck perfectly. He's always looking for space and causing confusion, even if he's offside at times. Always goes for rebounds as well. None of this comes into play when he's on the wing. He's not quick, he's not a dribbler, he's not a target man, he's not a particularly good crosser. He's an out and out goalscorer. It's like trying to play Huntelaar on the wing. It's basically as stupid as playing Shola there for that matter, just minus the goalscoring. For me, he's better than Ba in terms of finding space. Ba creates his own space with his physique.

Interesting that, I didn't notice it at all. I think he'll work better as part of a deeper two with Cabaye as the most advanced. Bingo. --------Tiote-----Anita---------- ------------Cabaye-------------- Ben Arfa------------Marveaux -----------Ba/Cisse-------------- will we ever see this I wonder.

You're Swedish aren't you? I recognize your name from the old magpies.nu forums. Just to get the context of your views on Ronaldo, how do you rate him in comparison to Zlatan for example?

The crossing at Fulham was laughable, more than usual tbh. We got into so many positions and produced absolutley nothing.

He'd have a plan when buying the second one. He'd then stick to that plan. Not have the team suffer to accomodate one individual. What Pardew did when he moved Demba to the left was benefitial for the team. We're all clinging on to the thought of how we played when he was out there. We haven't played as well with him being in the middle, no matter how good he's been. And he's been fantastic in spells. I genuinely can't believe we reverted from the system used in March/April. I'm all for playing more direct in certain games. But the signing of Anita and the way Cabaye, Cissé and Ben Arfa were performing in that period pointed so much towards the plan being to stick with three midfielders and three fowards. I'd love us to settle for that system. I'd love for us to choose between Ba and Cissé. I think they both offer us so much when deployed correctly. I'd love for us to use Anita as the dynamic link in midfield, for the old Tioté to hammer people by his side, for Cabaye to construct our attacks. For Coloccini to have a CB worthy of partnering him. Frustration is setting in more than any real worry. We have the foundations of a brilliant side here. Full of confidence coming from last season. Had we bolstered things with 2-3 more players and kept focusing on our strengths instead of convulsivley trying to please individuals and stick to an approach that worked because of Coloccini/Krul's individual brilliance last season.

After Ben Arfa, he's my favourite player to watch in the world. As for him and Zidane, aye. They're on par. Again, it's a case of Iniesta being part of a generation/team of remarkable players that makes people forget him in those circumstances. I for one rate him above Xavi every day of the week.

Wigan play well. Aston Villa are, in my opinion, heading in the right direction. Mackems, us, Southampton and QPR (who will pick up now) are fighting it out. Reading are doomed, yet outplayed us at Madejski earlier in the season.
-
He'll lose the fans if things don't pick up in the next six games. And they won't.

This three-at-the-back idea. We can't even defend when we have four defenders on the pitch and Tioté is playing the worst football of his career, I'd go easy on that. -

It might have taken a slight deflection off God. -
I love Jonas with all my heart but he needs to be dropped. Horrible all season.
-
His confidence is shot now as well. Some of his passes last night were so nervous I wanted to cry.
-
Difficult to make up my mind around this issue. At times I feel as if we're very reliant on him. He's always putting himself about and has a superb record. As a team, we're maybe better off without him.
-
Excellent player in there. Getting to grips and making things happen. Needs more movement around him and players comfortable on the ball. He's actually hindered by Simpson, Williamson, Jonas and Cheick's awful technique.
-
Baffled by his shitness. Passing is one of the worst I've seen from a midfielder at the club.
-
If we lose to City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton, it's 10 defeats out of 12. Hard to stomach whatever contract you're on. Add a failure to get something off QPR and I think Ashley will take action. He can't afford to see us slipping into relegation drama again.

Shola coming on at LW instead of Marveaux is alarming lack of understanding. Vurnon Anita keeps getting better. A positive to take. Don't think we played too badly but it was largely down to Fulham not being all that and us having some very talented players. The last ditch defending and uncertain situations we found ourselves in, maaaan. We were tactically a mess again. 59 formations every game. Santon or Ben Arfa the only outlet. -
It's one win in ten. It's dreadful and getting worse.

"Let's play 4-3-3 and get things going" This will be awful.
