QPR may have the planning nous of a chicken with a severed head, but they just have too much now to get relegated. Thing is, he might be expecting a title challenge with this sort of investment. Why would he? He's happy enough to pick his 90 grand wage packet with rumours flying around, he couldn't give a toss. Not bothered enough to force a move away for first team football showing an incredible lack of ambition but like most footballers these days, it's all about the money. True, but it's easy pointing finger for those of us that aren't in that situation. Money does things to all people, not just footballers. However, he won't starve on half of that and he'll be playing more at NUFC. Should be enough to make the move, especially if he didn't want to move in the first place.

They sold Modric. We have kept our star players. That is the difference imo. Yeh, thats true. Although I'd rather replace 1 star player with 4, than do nothing at all. Guess things could be worse - we could be Arsenal fans at the minute! Isn't that what arsenal have done though? Sold Van Persie and get Giroud and Poldolski Sold Song as well, meaning their two best players have left them. Regardless of replacements, you don't want to do that. It's asking much of replacements to reach the levels of those two. I'd say the same applies for Spurs. Dembele is a decent signing, but he's no Modric. They'll upgrade on Friedel with Lloris, but Vertonghen - who I think will be brilliant - still has to prove himself in a far more competitive league. Compare that to Coloccini and/or Taylor, who we know both are capable of impressing in this league. Keeping players you know can hack it is better than replacing them. Our inability to add depth to that is still a worry, and replacing the one starter who we know struggles at times is just plain stupidity.

The one positive thing about our lack of signings is the fact that this lad might get a fair few chances this season. The fact that he's been added to the first team profiles on the official site probably means we're counting on him in certain games. Imagine if he got on tonight, impressed and even scored - this place would so much nicer to be around. He could really dampen the frustration and disappointment with the transfer window.
