In terms of natural ability and the unique nature of his game, I'd say he stands out of the players I've seen playing for Newcastle. Shearer was special in another way, but Ben Arfa's technique and footballing brain is superior to anything I've seen in Newcastle, let alone football in general. Very few players has his ability, the fact that he plays for us is unbeilevable. Not only is he ridiculously good, but a joy to watch for anyone who's in to football. The level of entertainment and the elegance he carries brings so much joy to our game. I'm constantly asking myself how on earth he ended up here, the circumstances were so specific and if it wasn't for him breaking his leg, I'm not sure he would have wanted to stay on.

Not sure about his character. He didn't play for Spain for a couple of years because he was always homesick whenever he travelled somewhere. Can see him having trouble adapting to England.
-
Agree. If we can't get Debuchy, him on the left and Santon on the right would be good. We've probably managed to get his price down since our interest began.

Brilliant. At 17 he's clearly convinced Pardew about his ability. Hope he gets on.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
AlanSkÃrare replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Less complex and more patient environment for him if he comes back as well, I think he'll prosper again but not the the hysterical extent he did before we sold him. Still, an excellent option to have and a player that will want to prove many people wrong. Not a bad signing if we get him for close to £10m. But saving up money and not signing a right back because of this is pure idiocy (if the case). -
Their "Gossip column" consists of a link to caughtoffside.com which carries a story that Arsenal might want to replace Song with him. So we cool.

The Carroll Index now applies for the whole Premiership, regardless of timing. Allen £15m Fletcher £12m Dawson £9m King Kenny ruined the transfer market for some time to come.

I think Papiss will be up for it again. I also think we'll frustrate them and that we're full of confidence after beating Spurs. Coloccini playing is key to getting a result. Tioté to keep Hazard quiet and Colo to take Torres out of the game. Mata against Simpson is the main worry tbh.

Would be typical of us if the window fizzles out and we all sit here hoping for something on deadline day with the NE journos telling us the Carroll offer is still on the table all day.

That WBA game was something special from the whole team, the pace and urgency in our counter attacks was just amazing. First time I saw NUFC last season not hoofing it all game, and trying something more adventurous in the form of the 4-3-3. The game where our season changed to be honest. I know we beat Norwich the game before, but Pardew found his second winning formula of the season at WBA. The excitement that day

Clubs like Spurs and Arsenal? exactly. Players that leave Spurs and Arsenal are far better than what we have here. They leave for Real Madrid (Modric) and Barcelona (Arsenal) , that happens to Manchester United and even Chelsea (Robben etc) as well. Players of that calibre aren't around here yet. Apart from Perch.

Just lost 1-3 at home to Kiev in their first qualifier. He scored an OG. http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/24133683.jpg

Probably going to Greece Adam Campbell @adamcampbell_ Buzzingggg

For the reported fee we really should be in here. I reckon Pardew has told the board he has other priorities though.

Stockholm is the only big city in Sweden. One of the best cities in the world according to some recent poll by Forbes or TIME and rightly so. Absolutley love living here. Would be a massive draw for big players if our footballing climate and league regulations weren't so fucked up.

I think we'll improve our bid very slightly towards the final few days or hours. They'll pretty much have to accept it as he'll be desperate to go. All about them finding a replacement as well.
-
Not exactly going to help your national team this. Richards, Johnson, Sturridge, Rodwell and now Sinclair should all be playing regular football at this stage of their careers. I am desperate for John Guidetti to sign for someone else as well. Horrid environment for young players.

That's four articles about Campbell in four days from Ryder. When he finally breaks through for real he'll love himself to bits. "Was impressed with Campbell earlier in the year. Always believed in him." "Called Campbells talent back in March 2011. Excellent prospect back then" Basically setting himself up for taking credit for Campbell's forthcoming success here.

Tbf to him he did have a torrid time when he became a regular...our team was terrible. Mainly the CM area which offered very little cover. ...and the back four consisted of Bramble, Boumsong, Babayaro, Carr, Ramage, Huntington, Edgar, CM was Parker trying to do everything on his own. Not the best environment to develop in, still he managed to shine on some occasions. Coloccini has done him so much good.
