  1. Of course we should go for Beattie. Just imagine if we get him on the cheap and he goes on to score as much as he did those seasons when he was on his way to replace Shearer. Very good third-choice striker when Owen is fit again.
  2. Can't understand Redknapps ambition if he's willing to let go of two of his best players. Madness.

    B-Team?

Bassedas? I'd take Barnes and Baines or Bale + a good striker in january. Looks like we're competing for Upson with Tottenham and Liverpool again, this time they'll snatch him.
  4. If your seriously suggesting putting shambles back into the team/our defence then its very hard to take you seriously and i'm very glad your not picking the team!! Our defence at the moment is as solid as its been for a very very long time largely because (amongst other factors) Shambles has not been in it! Criminal to break up the defence at the moment. ramage and taylor are as brave as they come with headers and tackles and Hunty at 6'3 looks pretty good too. Whilst Shambles is good in the air, he often goes missing lets the player he's supposed to be marking get away from him and has very poor positional sense/any sense, this would be a horendous decision. I agree, Ramage and Taylor have been terrific. But I remember Ramage had some trouble with Darius Hendersons physical presence, Kevin Davies will rip him apart. Bramble is bigger, stronger and better in the air. But I would be happy to see Ramage prove me wrong.
  5. I might be wrong but I guess that he doesn't give a shit while discussing bellamy and Martins. - Lets just say I expected him to be good until I started to learn what Souness was like.
  6. How much they cost has nothing to do with how good they are. Bellamy cost £6 million because we bought a player who struggled for relegated Coventry, Martins cost £10 million partly because of where we bought him from. I think Martins would have been cheaper if we had got him from relegated Coventry. The transfer fee isn't always a guide as to how good a player is, outside factors also play a part. Of course, but my point is that when Newcastle buy two strikers for £6M and £10M I EXPECT the more expensive of the two to be the better one, which I think he has proved to be. And Bellamy went for the same fee (£6M) to Blackburn and to Liverpool.
  7. Oba cost £10M and Bellamy £6M. Oba really should be the better of them.
  8. The only consistancy in milners game is that he keeps loosing the ball. Unlike some of the other players he has worked his socks off just about every game this season and his end product has become better and better. But yes, there are times when he gives away the ball too much. I have no problem with that as long as he is involved in every other goal we score and make the most of his defensive responsibility. Would be nice to see him get a goal himself sometime though.
  9. I'd like to see the exact same team that beat Tottenham, with Huntington starting ahead of Babayaro. I don't think Milner deserves to loose his place just because Duff is fit again, he has been one of our most consistent performers all season. Would like to have Bramble fit for this one cause Ramage WILL struggle to beat Davies in the air. I think we'll get a draw, though Boltons tough tackling might be risky with the pace of some of our players so if we're lucky they'll go easy on us or get sent off.
  10. I've read it and it's really worth the money. There's a book called "Fifty Years of Hurt" or something about the clubs titledraught, that I was told to read by a friend, has anyone read it? Is it worth it?
  11. they were only doing thier job! didn't we need a win against barca, anyway? We did, and I blame Bramble for that failure.
  12. Still pissed at him and Emre(they both scored in a 2-0 win) for winning that game against Leverkusen when Inter had to go down for us to progress in the CL 02/03. Other than that he's our best signing since Woodgate.
  13. Maybe his way of saying goodbye?
  14. Couple of friends of mine has played against Anthony Stokes and Bendtner and they say Bendtner is the better and always has been. One of them will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season. I'd have them both at Newcastle.
  15. Unbelievable. Best performance I've ever seen from a keeper.
  16. This happend to Lua-Lua and kept him out for months at pompey. I think Redknapp has forbidden him to celebrate like that ever since.
  17. Johan Elmander murdered the entire Spain back four in the Euro qualifiers when Sweden won 2-0 earlier this year. Got the better of Puyol in every single challenge. Very capable player. Would be a good signing for us.

    £20 million?

Leighton Baines, Vanden Borre = £10M Huntelaar = £10M Probably not a chance in the world to sign Huntelaar but would be the perfect signing.
  19. Has been injured. Can't remember Ramage being out injured. But he's the only one..
  20. Should be given until the end of the season unless we're dragged into a relegation fight again. Shepherd set his target at top 6 and if that isn't achieved then it's a good enough reason to sack him. Right now he's doing very well considering the amount of injuries though.
  21. Kerr and Andy Griffin. Griffin was a terrible footballer but his tackling was so full of adrenaline, loved his golas vs Juventus and Charlton. What a week. Kerr played a very good game vs Liverpool in 02/03 when Robert won it with a deflected free kick. Kerr-Acuna were awsome in the centre.
  22. This kid is a talent. Pretty high rated in Sweden. But three trials is just ridiculous.
  23. Since Taylor has been in the England team at every single level from the U15s to the U21s..isnt it natural for the England manager to speak of him as a possible forthcoming international? He'll probably get his chance in a friendly or something during 2007..
