  1. Yes it's a RTG reference. Still think there are plenty of better ones to use. Wouldn't refer to any player as a "black c***" to take the p*ss out of John Terry.
  2. Not very amused by that nickname, not even when used ironically.
  3. "Understand what it’s like when other teams score and how to react to that.” "Understand what it’s like when other teams score and how to react to that.” "Understand what it’s like when other teams score and how to react to that.”
  4. What a fucking mess these latest quotes are. It's like he's sleep-talking on drugs. "No excuses but we have lots of excuses and we need to put the performance right but Manchester United play in Europe so they'll win".
  5. Every single day I wake up and fucking hate that this man is still associated with NUFC. This level of hatred is something I've barely ever felt in my life before.
  6. Process: If Rémy plays, hope he scores, then defend for your lives. Hook Ben Arfa, play all the left-backs.
  7. Not surprised the least. Don't know what's happend here tbh. It's all gone tits up in the past 10 years or so, escalating now more than ever. Last night was another shambles. Nobody (the poster) will tell you more as I'm sure he was there. AIK played IFK Gothenburg in their season opener. Game was interrupted twice. First because of a fire in one stand, a 9-year old was hit by a flare, the supporter who threw it was badly beaten, someone ran onto the pitch. Then the ref threatened to abandon the game because his assistant was being hit by too many objects from the stands. This is, to put things into perspective, the day after a fan was killed in Helsingborg. Another thing that I noticed yesterday was the hooligan firm of AIK, Firman Boys, hanging their banner over another supporter initiative in the stadium with no action being taken from stewards or club. The day after their idea of "support" had taken an innocent man's life. And the quality of football isn't even good here, there's no joy in our game. It's almost as tragic as NUFC. Had it been any other day, I wouldn't have thought it was that bad, but because of what happened the day before, it was just tasteless and idiotic. The first time the game was interrupted was because the fire alarms went off because of the flares and that the roof was closed, I'm not sure I buy the 9-year old being hit by one tbh, it all seems very strange to me as I was sat right under the Gothenburg supporters and I feel like I would have seen something. I don't particularly like the flares, but I don't really mind them either. Second time was a bit of a disgrace considering our history with throwing things on the pitch and people ought to know by now that it doesn't take much for a game to be called off over here. However, it surely can't have been much worse than what happened at Old Trafford yesterday, and nothing will be made of that. There was apparently quite a bit of bother round town as well before kick off, which I find more staggering tbh. Just calm the f*** down you bunch off tossers. Don't really mind flares either, our stadiums/stewards/governing powers just aren't used to handling them. Looking beyond the bother, Friends and Tele2 should be catalysts for Stockholm as the home of teams in the same mould as FC Köpenhamn and Rosenborg, there's no reason why not. Really hope things turn for the better over the season.
  8. The more I've learnt about Ashley, Pardew and Llambias, the less anger I've felt towards Carroll. I don't think he pushed for the move at all, and therefore I don't hold any grudge against him. I have to say, him playing for us and his rise during 2010 was probably one of the best things I've experienced with NUFC in the past decade. I'd have him back in a flash as I think he's one of the few people who could inject some fucking meaning into this hollowness.

He's officially written off so it doesn't really matter.
  11. I find the hooliganism in Swedish football interesting, as Sweden and Norway aren't all that different in its inhabitants mentalities or social structure. Yet our football cultures are nothing alike at all. It don't know, but part of me suspect this is partly down to the 51% rule over here. Supporters have a lot of influence and stay close to the clubs, something that could and should be nothing but beneficial for our footballing culture. However, in recent years I think something has changed. The firms and those who believe football and violence belong together have increased their say in matters and sort of encapsulated the mood around stadiums. I hear and feel so much hate here. Last season, Djurgårdens manager resigned after being "visited" by hooligans during a training session. In AIK, the CEO of the entire club is a former Hells Angels member with strong connections to their firm "Firman". Meanwhile, the entire debate over here is concerned with media portraying fans in a bad way, rather than how to minimize the influence of these people. They're f***ing poison. Good post, but Segui isn't the CEO, but the chairman of the board. I've been looking forward to our opening game tonight for quite some time now until yesterday. Should have been great, two top teams at a sold out arena, but now I just feel like what the hell is the point. This whole thing is so much worse because it appears the man who was killed was just a regular fan on his way to the game with his brother, it literally could have happened to anyone. Like you say, the whole media debate is horrible as well. While the media, and your average non-football interested person are doing everything they can to paint football supporters as the scum of society, a small group of hooligans seems to be doing their best to stay in the press by doing all sorts of stupid s****, like what we saw at the weekend. Being just an average match going fan can be so utterly tiring, because you know that in games like tonight, chances are always high that something terrible will happen which will set the same, tired old debate going again with people missing the point on both sides. Aye, I think Segui's position just got lost in translation there. Actually went to the AIK supporters seminar at Solna Gymnasium the other weekend just out of interest. A good initiative but was far too much focused on blaming the media for creating a violent atmosphere. Whilst I agree with you that responsibility for this lies on both sides (the lack of understanding and knowledge among the media and politicians is f***ing embarrassing), I think the Stockholm clubs in particular are dodging the most obvious and pressing issue; banning the firms. Tonight when you play Göteborg, I'm sure Firman Boys will have their banner up at Friends Arena, as usual. That sort of manifestation needs to be removed from not only the stadiums, but the clubs. A clear and very resolute stance against the firms. The same applies for Djurgården, IFK Göteborg, Malmö, Helsingborg and Hammarby and the other clubs who are usually involved.
  12. The NE media could be going off on Pardew a bit harder I think. It's not really a debate on whether he's the right man or not anymore, his record in the past 1,5 years is fucking appalling and he's not deserving of anymore time to "show what his vision is" whether you try and stay objective or not. I've wanted him sacked since the Reading game last year as well. A friend of mine said at the weekend that he remembered how I was when we lost 6-0 to Liverpool last season. He asked me how the fuck the same idiot could still be in charge, inflicting similar results about a year afterwards. I don't even start to explain it anymore. Pardew needs to disappear from my life very, very soon.
  13. Expected? We were aiming for 8th.
  14. I think Ashley probably does care more about our results than most give him credit for. At the end of the day, our transfer policy revolves around the premise of buying players on the cheap and selling them on for a profit. You can't generate interest let alone profitable offers in our players if they're all performing s****. Exactly the point I made this time last year. How many of our players are currently worth the same or more than they were a couple of seasons ago? I can't think of one. The one reason would be this, and even if I don't think Ashley thinks like this, there is a chance that he sees his investments in players loose value under Pardew for the second season running and decides do look elsewhere. On the other hand, he's done nothing to convince me of the fact that he cares about results. Had he been worried about Pardew's effects on players (Cissé, Ben Arfa etc.), Pardew would be gone since long.
  15. The only thing I find more unbelievable than him being sacked is people who think Ashley gives a flying f*** about these results. He's done exactly what's asked of him, no threat of relegation, cash in on best player, sign nobody, steer well clear of Europe, lower expectations and belittle the club. All according to the club's current behavioural blueprint.

  17. Swedish fan was killed prior to the opening day of the season here today, Helsingborg-Djurgården was abandoned as fans stormed the pitch when news of his death filtered through. The state of Swedish football - both playing wise and among fans - is worrying objectively speaking. Don't really support any team over here, but I go to games. It's all wrapped up in poor quality, little innovation, violence and hate rather than love for ones own team. Very different from going to football in England. Yet people here believe themselves to have imported the hooligan culture from England. What happend today didn't even surprise me.
  18. Official list of people associated with NUFC that I've hated the most now looks like this: 1. Alan Pardew 2. Mike Ashley 3. Graeme Souness 4. Michael Owen 5. Kenny Dalglish (mostly because of post-NUFC behaviour)
  19. Let's not forget science. Nothing beats the spying fans.
  20. Have to agree here though, defensively we've been sound, for sure. I have every faith in him sorting out our goalscoring. His teams are, after all, always on the front foot looking to win.
  21. He's not swapping Premier League coverage and 12,3 million viewers per game (average) for fucking Rangers. We're stuck with him.
  22. In essence, that's him referring to himself and Ashley as "the tide".

Remember Carroll went to Preston and was shit when he was Campbell's age. He then came back and was very average for a long time until something clicked at The Hawthorns. Campbell could grow in the right environment. Pardew won't provide that for neither him nor Armstrong, but both could probably be good players.
