It's probably been mentioned but Arshavin admits English interest. ------------------------------- Andrei Arshavin has confirmed that he would relish the chance to play in England. The 26-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle all linked. "Of course I want to play in England," stated the Russian captain when asked about the interest. Arshavin's club Zenit St Petersburg, who won the Russian championship last season, are keen for him to stay but their director of sport Konstantin Sarsania has confirmed there is interest in him. Interest Sarsania admitted that both Newcastle and Everton had been tracking him. "Newcastle, Everton and Marseille were interested in Arshavin. Also a few other European football agents asked us about terms of his transfer. But we didn't receive any official offer," he told the Russian press. "Also I know that Newcastle and Everton scouts visited our games to watch Andrei." Zenit have already sold Martin Skrtel to Liverpool during this month and Arshavin is hoping he will follow his former team-mate to Britain. "Arshavin is well known in Europe by many great European clubs," his agent Pavel Andreev told Arshavin's official website. "We have actually transferred power of attorney so that we can let an English agency do the serious negotiations. "They will communicate the interest with any clubs for Andrei and once we have information we will report it." Andreev admitted there was interest from British clubs but he would not confirm their identities. ---------------------------------------------------

Have a listen to yourself you extremely pathetic ungrateful individual. Your getting off on slagging off a man who turned Newcastle United around from a sinking ship of 17th to 3rd, 4th, 5th Champions League football and consistent European football qualification managed Newcastle United to its best EVER points total of 71 points in our Premiership history joint with Keegan's 71 points that came 2nd not only that but a man that loved this club more then anyone I mean the man is 74 years old where was he last Tuesday night at Newcastle United's reserve game his love for our club despite how he has treated him is quite unbelievable. I don't know where the f**k have you been for the last 5 years? and where the f**k were you during the 5 years before Sir Bobby Robson? But I suggest you go get some perspective before spouting your mouth off. One thing is for sure you will be waiting a VERY LONG TIME till Newcastle United hit the heights of Sir Bobby Robson's 3rd, 4th, 5th and consistent European football again a very very long time. AMEN!

I was sat with the Mancs unfortunately (My brother who is 28 is a Manc and got tickets for me, himself and his missus) so it was awkward for me, but wouldn't have missed it for the world. I will say though, our fans were fucking incredible. The scarves flying out and singing loud. I guess I can't take credit for being a good fan last night as I was sat in the home stand, but I take my hat off to everybody in the Away stand. Thanks guys

Last game last season, can't even remember who it was against. After we had sacked Roeder and didn't have a replacement yet. This is a close second though. Watford wasn't it? I wanted us to win against United, but now I don't care. A win would be good, a draw would be acceptable, a loss would be withstandable.

He'll leave us probably, a week after being charge.

i take this as next friday then yeah sorry i went a bit off topic. Errrr I hope before Man Utd game but not taking over till after (as has been said), but the pessimist within suggests it will be next thursday. You all heard it here first

yup actually i think he did well under Roeder. Agreed. I think when Roeder played him week in/week out then it filled him with confidence.
