  1. Yeah, one thing I have no doubt of is that Rafa will not tolerate these levels of incompetence for too much longer. Taylor was out on his arse after his abject performance against Norwich last season, and I'm getting the feeling that Rafa's patience is starting to wear thin with a few of those still here. Indeed; but he needs viable alternatives in order to carry that out.
  2. Think it'll be Galloway once Kone goes to Everton
  3. We played 4-4-2 yesterday in the first half.
  4. Never been convinced by him tbh; another one that flatters to deceive. His good work down the flank almost always results in a crossing opportunity and he almost always puts in an underwhelming effort.
  5. He was poor, like, just kept losing it.
  6. We're missing his link up play, it's obvious. Particularly if Shelvey's playing coz he's constantly knocking it long.
  7. We have some absolute melts among our support like. When we scored the lad in front of me turned around and shouted "fucking cheer then" at him; without a hint of irony.
  8. Think I must be the only one who thinks Hayden has been ok so far; didn't really notice him today.
  9. I think it was very different in terms of the flow of the game though. If we're sat deep and he can see everything in front of him he's ok, but when people are running at him and off him and he's retreating towards goal he's out of his depth.
  10. Mbemba loses it, but Lascelles should never allow their player to run off him like he did. He should be in total control of that situation, just drop off a yard or two if you need to, their player just ran around him. I played at centre half for years and I'm slow as f***; you need to know your limitations. Mbemba should have pulled their lad down and given away a free kick to prevent him from playing the pass Yeah, both were at fault.
  11. Think it's going to take a while for people to get used to trusting a manager again. It's also going to take a while for him to fix our badly broken football club.
  12. Was watching the match today in one of the players boxes right behind us. Our fans sang 'we want you to go' at him for most of the second half. It was an absolute cringe fest.

  14. I was there today, a few points: Rafa's got an absolutely massive rebuilding job on; way bigger than I assumed, tbh. We might be the big fish in a little pond in terms of attendances and recent history; but we've been a bad football team for years now; and it's so embedded in our DNA that it looks like it's going to take a season to shake it off. We look like a team that's used to losing. I'm seriously concerned about Lascelles; even at this level. He's too slow; and he's not clever enough positionally to make up for it. We're going to have a lot of possession this season and teams are going to counter us, like they did today. You need quick defenders to counteract that; Lascelles today looked like latter day Colo without the positional awareness (much better in the air though, obvs). Gayle looks ok but his first touch is very inconsistent; Shelvey thinks about the long glamour pass first and the situation second. Dummet was just shit, approaching a player in possession completely square on and getting rinsed. Diame looks slow. We're massively missing a target man. Fuck; that was depressing.
  15. I've got a son; who was conceived naturally. That means I've had sex at least once. Does that rule me out?
  16. Is he banned? Shock, most argumentative forum member ever, had him on ignore for years
  17. I'm sure our fans will adhere to all of this sensible advice.
  18. Please link me to that article
  19. I'm just don't believe in loaning players when trying to build a team and a team spirit and sense of commitment and at the same time paying for the privilege of improving your competitors players for the future. I'm more long term with my approach but I'm fully aware this isn't the vogue anymore as players and managers alike move around with such frequency. I'd much rather we loaned a player for one year with the intention of getting promoted than signed someone who the manager doesn't think is right, just for the sake of this argument.
