Newcastle vs Man City (Lg Cup 4th Round) - Wed 30th Oct @ 7:45pm (live on Sky)
Dr Venkman replied to Dave's topic in Football
Extremely petty owner is extremely petty. Doesn't give a fuck, man. Couldn't care less. -
He's on his 5th album now and still knocking out 2 trackers. Where the fuck is the concept album?!! He's never been capable of it in any job he's ever had. Ashley doesn't want a concept album though, He wants one of them £2.99 90's compilations you get by the tills in Morrisons. It's like going to Sports Direct and complaining that they don't have any Gucci suits for sale and should sack the store manager for not stocking them. Nah, it's like going to Sports Direct and picking up a few nice pairs of trainers, not amazing but pretty nice and the type you'd be happy to wear on a night out. Then taking them to the till to buy, but the manager doesn't know how to operate it, so you go home disappointed. Ultimately it's the companies fault for hiring a manager who can't work a till, but don't tell me there'd be no resentment at the inadequacies of the manager, because it's bollocks. He needs to be held accountable for how bad a job he's doing.

Ryder: "I'm just clarifying the situation because I haven't heard, errrr can you clarify the situation?"

Such a surprise to see you respond in that manner to a few posts on this subject, it's almost as if you're a bit sensitive about it. Ultimately everyone does what they feel is the right thing to do, I haven't called anyone for thinking differently to me, just giving my opinion.

Sigh.. Yes, obviously a buyer is ultimately needed for the club to no longer be owned by Ashley, but that doesn't mean there is nothing we can do except wait. We can make life really uncomfortable for him, making it more appealing for him to up sticks and lowering his asking price. Also, when the club is in turmoil the club could well also be otherwise more attractive to certain types of prospective buyers iyam. or it could put off buyers, they weren't exactly queuing up last time it was for sale and the club was in chaos. They were put off by the asking price. which isn't going to change He appears a sensitive soul, who knows what might happen if people start calling him nasty names on a regular basis again. he's also a guy who's amassed a very large amount of money and ignored plenty of media criticism about his primary business I don't think nasty names will change much about the asking price If everyone stops putting money into the club, it's worth less. Never going to happen though is it? We will always put money in to the club. You will, aye. Hey, this is the first season i've refused to buy the shirt, progress. A minor one at that, but still It's not a slow and steady approach that's needed though. We all need to just sack it off completely until he goes, the alternative is this absolute horseshit we're putting up with now. I'll tell you something else as well, with every passing month that we do absolutely nothing with regards to cutting off club revenue (i.e. the only way we can make any real difference) we're setting a very dangerous precedent in terms of letting every prospective buyer out there know that they can get away with pretty much anything they want.

Who fancies having a thoroughly fruitless protest against Pardew?
Dr Venkman replied to a topic in Football
All we need is 300 people and an article in the Chronicle. -
yet Lee Ryder continues to be employed. He's almost certainly the best they can attract though, they're just a small paper.

In the sense that you were less bad, yeah. You had the momentum behind you, so I'd echo Brummie's comments of genuinely being confused how you managed to lose it. It was a good goal, but still. Why wouldn't he have 'the temerity' to do that, like? It's a perfectly legitimate complaint, which makes it the perfect excuse. I can't see many managers not mentioning a questionable decision that led to a winning goal. This is in no way a defence of anyone or anything, but of all the legitimate complaints from yesterday, this ranks near the bottom. It epitomised desperation. You'd hardly expect him to go "yeah, we were crap", but I think in the context of losing back-to-back derbies for the first time in however long it is (many decades?) and also to Sunderland in one of their lowest ebbs in years, to point to a refereeing decision that was in the other half is something that will very knowingly rub people up the wrong way and, generally, is a pretty preposterous excuse. It was entirely unnecessary and further solidifies his reputation as a serial excuse-maker. It was desperate. 1967 apparently, although I haven't checked that out myself.

So Pardew should be criticised for having no part in the loan signing of a mercenary who turned us down for more money last season and appears still to be unable to do 90 mins 2months into the season? He deserves a hammering for numerous things but this isn't one of them. It's Ashley that's killing the club, not Pardew. This thread is ridiculous. You're all mad. I'm so sick of reading this s*** now like, do some f***ing reading, man. Every single person slagging Pardew in this thread knows that Ashley is the main person responsible for the state of NUFC, that doesn't absolve Pardew of all blame. For f***s sake man. And that sums up this thread entirely, being fully conscious that slagging Pardew is missing the point by a country mile yet still doing it This is the dictionary definition of madness. You're all batchy. It's the Alan Pardew thread, did you come in here to praise him? What exactly is the point being missed? We usually talk about how he's doing his job in here, he's doing it badly.

You know the drill mate, give them all the credit and say they deserved to win.
-
I reckon he still has his excuses. For all the talk of our squad full of internationals we still had Dummet and Williamson at CB. You're a man who professes to judge everything on facts, it seems. Was our group of available players more talented than theirs? Aye. Then there are no excuses.

while sacking Pardew does nothing to solve the other major issues. Best case scenario if he's sacked some uninspiring mate of JFK's sits in the dugout and same shit all over again same complaints. Worst case scenario its JFK himself which is a rather unbearable prospect. All the while no investment no change to transfer policy no change to ambition. We might go onto the pitch and actively try and win a game by creating chances.
-
Agree. I reckon we should keep him as he's doing such a mint job. Let's not replace him, his team is doing well so let's give him more time to move the club forward. Good post mate mate. Keep him, sack him, doesn't really matter. Class condescending post though. Cheers. 'We might appoint someone worse' is the single worst argument I've ever heard for keeping him in a job. If the only redeeming feature of his tenure is that he may be slightly better than his possible replacement then we're in big fucking trouble. Your posts are fucking laughable tbh given our situation. Your head is so far up your own arsehole you can see 2015. That isn't my argument tbf Midds lad. My argument is that the manager doesn't matter. At the minute we're a nothing club and we will be until we get a new owner. The most ridiculous thing I've read on here for years. The bloke in charge of all things football 'doesn't matter'. Absolute pigshit, you're kidding no-one except yourself. It doesn't matter insomuch as we're not going to win anything or go down with any manager. Don't take posts so literally. The present incumbent almost got us relegated last season. Almost being the key word. I want things to change as much as yee, not sure why you're kicking off. Just of the opinion that a new manager will make very little difference. It will make a difference on a match day, in case you hadn't noticed that's all we've fucking got under Ashley. There's no hope for the future, no progression and no ambition for the club. All we've got is 90 mins to look forward to every week, 90 mins that are all too often ruined by Pardew. 2 derby losses in a row, man. What the fuck's wrong with you?

It obviously makes a difference. What is keeping him getting us? Are we going to win anything with a new manager? Probably not. If we're lucky a new manager might lead to point difference of 5-10 points. Geet up. You're tying yourself in knots to avoid changing your ridiculous viewpoint. He needs to go and has done for nearly a year.

You hear it all the time man. 'He doesn't give a fuck what we think of him'. Llambias was telling everyone to stop calling him names so he'd buy some players

This sort of thing had been going on for years btw. A friend of mine is a freelance photographer and had one of his images put in the independent just after KK left last time. It was just a picture of glum looking fans, nothing bad at all. He was banned from the training ground and all matches forever. Bear in mind this is a local, self employed lad, and he didn't even write a story. He doesn't even like football
