We've been here a million times, Moyes had a better record and a worse squad. You fuck off.
-
Definitely blaming you if he's on the bench.
-
Neil, is Lukaku gonna be starting yet or what?
-
I've never really understood this, why was it likely? Just going on the mates with Wise/thought about giving him the job thing before stuff, also that he'd likely be ok with a DOF.
-
Bit of a gutter if he does go to them, he was the only realistic alternative to JFK when Pardew goes.
-
Indeed, if you've got a team working as a unit these things aren't as much of an issue.
-
I don't disagree with much of that, our only difference of opinion seems to be on Pardew's ability to make a set of players into a team.
-
Sometimes an outsiders view of a situation is interesting. Luke Moore on this weeks football ramble: "If you're so bad that Steve Bruce is dancing a victory dance on the sidelines at your home ground, it's time to get out of football".

I'm happy with that progress. We finished 8 points from 8th last year and were absolutely s****. Anything over 50 points and you're pretty much odds on as you're really only the best of a bad bunch. It's only progress if we maintain it and/or improve upon it though. And Pardew showed last year that he's hardly reliably in that respect, especially without investment. We just need to steady the ship after the relegation battle last season, get some confidence instilled back around the city, our team is slowly building into something special we just need to keep trying to add little bits of quality here and there as we are never going to splash at big style like some teams do. We've came a long way already from the days of Barton/Nolan, we just need to keep pushing on. New owners and a new fancy manager would be nice but that’s not likely to happen anytime soon. Hello Alan. Sly dig at the fans in the end there and jobs a good`un. Do you go on my profile, check my posts and pick up on any you fancy? You've done it all afternoon. Just pointing this out because it's a bit cuntish tbf. Thing is you're contradicting yourself somewhat there Brett . You can certainly say we have come a long way player wise since Barton and Nolan, I would even agree. But why isn't our team any better than the one Pardew took over? Indeed some might say that the team is actually worse despite the personnel being of a higher quality of player. Why is that? It's a rhetorical question by the way. I've contradicted nothing in terms of my own opinion, i think this is the best side i've seen in years, i hope Pardew sticks with the majority of this team and blends it together, it has signs of the team that finished 5th but with more quality added to it. It should be but it really isn't. We'll see, just different opinions. I believe in this side. Do you believe in the team? Or the individual qualities of the players? Hello again Venky, been a while since we discussed. At this moment in time i'd say i believe more in the individual quality of the players. They've only really been together a couple of games so i'm hoping they can build a good team chemistry and progress as a side together and i don't see any reason why they can't. I'm not saying it has to be the exact side as it has been last couple of games, just as long as it's thereabouts, for instance Tiote in, Anita out, it's not a major change. I just hope with stick with the way things have been going and let them develop, Hull was a big set back but it’s by no means a forlorn conclusion that we are destined for a poor season, the future is still bright for this side. Right.

If the average Newcastle fan was as embittered towards Pardew (as opposed to Ashley) as this forum is then he would have been booed out of town long ago. Proper Rat King of loathing has built up on here I think, and more people join with a loss than escape with a win/draw. Dissenting voices seem to get sarcasm or stick more than consideration of points made....until you ask them to put their money where their mouth is I'll bet you every penny that I own that Pardew is a s*** manager. FWIW, I did find that the hatred for him was mainly on here until after the 0-3 and 0-6. Since then I haven't met anyone except you and a couple of others on here that pointlessly defend him. Think someone on here mentioned their utter disbelief that the Straberry corner would sing "Pardew is our King" during the Hull game. So a vocal contingent in the stadium are still supportive. Right, so possibly a few people in 50,000. I'd expect more in the stadium, tbh. Not in real life though. I don't tend to hang around community centres and mental hospitals. I honestly don't think this song should be interpreted as a show of support for Pardew. It's just a song we sing when we're winning, some lad behind me sang 'Keegan is our king' at the end of it during the Hull game.

just the nature of football isn't it, are we alone in this? as you may have seen i'm one of the ones trying to be level-headed about saturday, i just think pardew was done as much as anything and don't see it as any worse than any of the other defeats we've had under him, it's just a shame that we looked like we could get some momentum going after villa one thing is for sure, he's been found out at SJP now and he doesn't have an answer...west ham was a poor game all round and fulham didn't come to win or they might well have imo...for some reason pardew has no clue how to break teams down and eventually losing home games badly will catch up with you Again, based on taking only this season into context (as it's all that matters for now), that's yet to be seen. So as well as discounting his entire career before he came here, now you're discounting everything before this season as well!?
-
Absolutely, it comes back to the footballing ethos, that's instilled in a group of players over time. Again (and I keep repeating myself) too much is made of analysing games in isolation, look at the way his team has played over the years he's been here. Lack of movement, rigidity, surrender initiative when in front. They're all old problems.
-
They were wrong. Our problem was never necessarily long ball. Our main problems have always been lack of movement and inviting teams onto us when we're ahead. Neither of them have changed. Mate, honestly, it does you no favours to be piping up on the back of a loss. I know that you haven't followed a few of our games this season, so you may not be the best person to judge. We've certainly improved in the areas you've mentioned. Piping up on the back of a loss? I've been saying exactly the same thing about Pardew and the way his team plays for years I've seen every minute other than the Villa game, I was at SJP for West Ham and Hull, just calling it as I see it.

Holy fucking shit. We're 5 matches into the season and you think 'being on the same points as Man United' holds any weight? If that 'form' will garner us 53 points and have us at 8th, then by the same token we should measure Man United as finishing around there? Of course not, and I don't think you're suggesting that. I'm just highlighting how pointless that part of your post is. Knee jerking, though. It's been at least since Reading at home last year that I've absolutely despised the man as a manager. That's 9 months ffs. It was knee jerking to start banging the "Pardew's great" drum after villa, and it would be knee jerking to say he deserves the sack off the back of the Hull game. There have been moments in the past where you could legitimately say it's not been good enough and he should go. Up to about January this year. Those moments have passed now though and it would be mad if we got rid of a manager with 7 points from 5 games while sitting 12th. I don't think anyone is seriously saying we should (are they?). I'm not saying anyone that's slated Pardew for 2 years is knee-jerking, but I think that was obvious. Me, I am. I honestly don't get this 'it's a new season, he's a new manager' thing like. He's still Alan Pardew.

For all those saying they're gutted, haven't you noticed the pattern here? We'll be gutted the next time they sack a manager too. They make appalling appointments.

Captain's performance from Ozil
-
Fair enough man, I just think he doesn't look interested and hasn't for some time.
-
Wouldnt be surprised to see them appoint one of the established pool of experienced managers following PDC, someone like O'Leary.

Which league is ours? I'm in one called N-O and one called Newcastle Online.

I was referring to 'we looked not the same'.
