  1. What was the performance like? Did we deserve the victory? Look like a team?
  2. It will 'just beat Morecambe man' then. There will be no positives from tonight on here. If a win is gained in a professional manner, it will be the standard of opposition being questioned and Pardew's tactics/team selection having no bearing as we should have done this regardless, if we get beat it's a simple metldown and a few more Pardew out people come to the fore. Similar sort of reaction if we scrape through in et or pens. It's all irrelevant Brett. Pardew's s***. Yep just a no win situation tonight for any of us really. We beat morecambe, the neutral will say it's only Morecambe, we lose, and the whole country is laughing. There is a win situation, it involves us winning the game. But all this 'people will just say this, people will say that' is nonsense man. Nothing's going to change the man's lack of ability.

  4. GW3: Man City 4-1 Hull City Cardiff City 1-2 Everton Newcastle 1-1 Fulham Norwich 2-2 Southampton West Ham 2-0 Stoke City Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland Liverpool 1-2 Man Utd West Brom 1-2 Swansea Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
  5. Foul throws are getting worse like, I didn't see a single legal one in the Man U - Chelsea game. Phil Jones was the worst for it
  6. What is this attitude, man? Properly bizarre. Attitude? It's just a standard 'I'm not watching so we'll win' post.
  7. Decided just to totally ignore this and go to the cinema. Enjoy the glorious victory

    a) If he's saying this in the press, he'll more than likely be saying it in the dressing room - the depressing b****** that he is. b) As if the players just go home from training and sit in a dark room with their fingers in their ears going "LA LA LA LA LA LA". They'll know exactly what he's saying. or he's lying through his teeth in order to give Morecombe proper respect and not just to be perceived to be arrogantly looking down at them and saying something completely different to the players. Judging on previous form, I know which one is more likely to be correct the one which fits better with the current agenda? Sorry but its an annoyance of mine, theres plenty out there for people to have a go at him for without this kind of thing which every prem manager would say something along the same lines to the press. He said if they get physical we'll lose ffs There's showing respect and there's utter fucking madness. he's right, we get into a physical game with them we're doing something very wrong when we should be using our (in theory) superior technical ability to beat them. Exactly. It's a fact of football from grassroots to the highest level that inferior teams will try to make the game a physical one to get the upper hand. All he's saying here is that we need to use our technical ability to win, not 'MORECAMBE ARE MINT AND WE'RE GOING TO GET BUMMED'. There are so many things he can be rightly criticised for, standard pre-game comments aren't one of them. Unfortunately if you're anti-Pardew on here though, you have to be against every single thing he says/does. Love the idea of people just being 'anti Pardew' on here, and not in general If you're incapable of reading full sentences you will come to some strange conclusions. Zing

Some premier league managers get the support of their board. Ours have worked to force him out because they ''can't afford'' to sack him. He's an a position to get sacked because they ''couldn't afford'' to back him a the right time - i.e summer. I'm never surprised by his negativity. He's doing his job with his hands tied behind his back - a job he isn't spectacular at in the first place to an expectant crowd. Up shit creek without a paddle basically. Aye, he was a barrel of laughs before this season

  11. Surely as long as you get through with minimal amount of squad damage, it's a good night. The aim is just to be in the next round, that's all that will do regardless of who is selected. The games don't exist in isolation though. The players need some goals and confidence. They won't get any of that from sitting at home whilst the reserves squeeze through. Quite possibly, but your also running the risk of injuring a Ben Arfa for Saturday or longer. Liverpool lost Toure/Allen/Cissokho though injury, easily done. Could have been a Sturridge or Gerrard. I’d prefer we went through with the kids out but obviously that carries a bigger risk of going out, a mixture of both would suffice for me. I don’t fancy seeing HBA playing that’s for sure though. When Ben Arfa's walking down the street, he could trip and break his leg, or someone could crash into his car. We can't make him a Bubble Boy ( "Moops!" ) I just don't subscribe to the theory that we must wrap players in cotton wool as much as possible. We treat footballers as if playing football is the absolute worst thing they can do for their health and I'm bloody sick of it. A risk ffs. I watch football to be entertained by my team playing good stuff and scoring goals, not to watch some blokes not getting injured. "Great game tonight, awful drab football but wow, they all looked fine at the end" Good God man. Certain players with a history record like Ben Arfa's don't need to play in games like this? Half the people on here were furious when he got injured in an away leg of the Europa Cup and sure enough Pardew took all the blame for it on here for selecting him, now he should be starting against Morecambe! Good God man. There is no winning with some, like. The club will always be doing something wrong. This doesn't apply when things are going well, I should add. Although, I'm not sure if that applies to Wullie, like. This is basically why the football forum is a big shroud of tedious dullness at the moment. There's a problem with everything and it's the same few names that keep popping up to cry about every last little quote or decision, or lambaste those who dare to try and see any form of positive. Indeed. People are just desperate to be angry at something, as if it's some kind of badge of honour. It's become so bad, that people are actually getting pre-emptively angry ('Excuses' thread), ahead of any comment being made. Don't subscribe to that kind of mentality? Well, Pardew's your 'main man', and you want us relegated. Personally I've been angry at Pardew for absolutely ages, I'll wear that badge with pride. I'll stop being angry with him when he begins to do his job with anything approaching competency.

We should be doing that at least 50% of the time in the league as well.

You don't get it do you? Whether every prem manager would or wouldn't say it (plenty wouldn't, by the way) isn't the issue. The issue is that we're shit, we've been shit for longer than a season now, and this dick is still trotting out the same old tired negative shite that he always has. He needs to do something different and that includes the things he says as much as the negative tactics.

Shit sarcasm that doesn't hit home
  16. Imagine if he starts Ba and Cisse up top together again
  17. Only have him back if he's prepared to play on the left wing again and play in a team. No good him coming in and demanding to play striker again and shafting Cisse in the process. His demands was the start of our downfall imo. We played our best football with Ba left Cisse top HBA right, we shouldn't have allowed him to dictate things his own way the following season when all he wanted was a bigger move elsewhere. A thousand times yes. Yeah, we did though because the manager's a fucking idiot.

    Sunderland

Only seen him against Fulham but he did look a very tidy player.

His last article before that one was April 30th. Entitled 'Play a midfield 3 of Cabaye, Jonas and Tiote to save Newcastle'.
  21. Thought he looked good against Swansea, playing quite far forward. Think he'll do well.
  22. Played the usual week 2 wildcard even though I had a canny first week. Mignolet Daniels Zabaleta Johnson Dawson Coleman Clyne Lampard Nolan Paulinho Mirallas Ben Arfa Dzeko Giroud Soldado Hatem will go next week.
