He's very, very good like.

It's absolutely typical of this season that we persuade him to stay for the rest of the season and now he's likely to be missing for all of it anyway.

Debuchy will be important again in this one I think, he's been in great form recently. Hopefully we can see him and Hatem link up -

Yep, really happy with that. It was all about the result, no injuries would be a nice bonus. -

Not bothered about the team or the performance. It's all about the result. -
The manager? Accountable for what his team does on the pitch? Don't be silly.
-
You'd think so yeah.
-
The thing is, if a striker playing at the bottom end of his form can score goals like he did against Southampton, I'm more than happy for him to be our no.1 striker.
-
but this season is him showing his true level Ian. It's a lot like the Pardew argument this one.
-
ahh right yeah, he's not actually that good is he? thanks for clearing that up.

I've been thinking I'd quite like to see that in the league, it gets Jonas out of the team without 'sacrificing' the defensive work he does. -
This for me is a fundamental criticism of Pardew that I have. Yet again he is looking to set us up to "worry" about the other team Stoke are on a horrendous run of form, are a fucking awful team, we are playing at home, we have an international CB and he's thinking of putting Willo in. Its ridiculous, and certainly counters all those "he wouldn't play Willo if he didn't have to arguements I don't think Pardew's a particularly good manager and even I would be amazed if he decided to start Wiliamson over Mapou in any game.

“We have to be really compact and we must know that in the first 20 minutes of the first and second half they are going to try and score quickly to try and put us on the back foot.” Yeah, some improvement needed in the way we start 1st and 2nd halves. -
A selection decision that fans don't agree with? How many of those does a manager make every season, or even every month? Really annoys me when people use the Tevez/Mascherano example as if it proves that Pardew only likes cloggers. Jonas
-
More back/hamstring trouble, sakes.
-
I love it, Pardew has no effect at all on our performances. You are correct but on the other side of the coin those most vocal in the Pardew is shite camp often ignore the things SLK mentioned. 1, 3, and 4 can all be dealt with at the same time, and it's my view that with all of these things taken into account we still shouldn't have had such a poor season. As for 2, if the majority of the players don't perform as well as they could over a season, that's the managers fault.
-
You need to have a word with our manager.
-
He is great on the ball, has the ability to just step away from defenders when they're closing him down, looks a real player.
-
The only 'ridiculous' inclusion at the moment is Jonas for me and even then I can't really moan with the other options. Marveaux is obviously more creative but I think we would be carrying him too much out there. If Jonas is still playing when Ben Arfa is fully fit fair enough but I really don't think he will. That's down to the way we play (or don't play) imo. We wouldn't have to 'carry' him any more than Ben Arfa if the team was encouraged to pass, move and be fluid.

Look who we are up against. It's the managers making the difference, man for man I think we've got enough to challenge. I don't think that we have one of the top 4 squads in the league. Definitely not. Challenge. Also, a better manager might off set that.
