Newcastle United vs. Stoke City - 21/04/2012 @ 3PM (Today)

I know where the theory that Pardew changed back to 4-4-2 to keep Ba happy came from. Its the only explanation that comes anywhere near making sense considering we'd just hit our best form of the season (results and performances) playing 4-3-3. He got it wrong by going to 4-4-2 and had Ben Arfa not pulled a wonder goal out of nowhere we would've dropped points. He changed a winning formula for no reason by trying to be too clever, which is a major fault of his imo. -
Very nice of him to do that, it's class having players who are respectable human beings.

Hmm, maybe it's because we're moving seats.

I'd like to second this, he was a breath of fresh air in a room full of farts. Anyway I expect all four teams in the running to have changeable form, I guess Spurs are the most likely to go on a run given their fixtures but there's no sign of it yet. -
Anyone got confirmation of renewal or anything yet?
-
He makes mistakes and gets blamed for them while others can make the same mistakes and get away with making them. Is that easier to understand? I haven't seen anyone else make mistakes as stupid as his 'tackle' and dive against brighton and throw in against Arsenal. I take your point in general but i'm not sure how relevant it is. He's certainly not a scapegoat for anything, he just stands out a mile because he's not good enough.
-
He gets blamed for things that others don't get blamed for. Eh? He makes mistakes others don't.
-
What you often see is Simpson being blamed for something that was the fault of another player. Not a fan of his, but all teams have a scapegoat. Think sometimes Danny has been given that role here. A scapegoat for what? We're joint 4th on points. He gets the blame for making mistakes after people watch him make them.

Alan Green ALWAYS slaughters players who dive, especially when Andy Carroll dives at SJP. Someone ring him up and mention it.

Dare I say, I think I'd be quite proud if Real Madrid bought HBA. Cannot even begin to fathom this mentality. Support him once he leaves by all means providing nufc get a good deal out of it involving a lot of cash. But proud? What are you on? It was a comment made by someone about (I think) Enrique before he moved, relating to Barca I think. It's a post that's forever amused me so I like to drag it up in sarcasm now and then. I know, hilarious. It gets funnier the more it gets explained, too. I promise. Haha. Whoooooosh!

Whether they are telling the truth or not isn't an issue, they keep going on about the possibility of us losing our better players and some people are worried because of what they've said. Personally, I'd rather they said nothing about selling or not selling players. but if they were asked, wouldn't a silence or dodging the question not be seen as worse ? Not imo. As far as I can see Pardew's gone into overdrive trying to make sure the Carroll backlash doesn't happen again by trying to prepare fans. I have sympathy with this, however it's overkill that borders on inviting offers for our players. There's certain things that we refuse to comment on as a club, one of those things is possible incoming transfers, I see absolutely no reason that possible outgoing transfers shouldn't be the same.

Great feeling, can't wait to be back in European games.

Anyone wishing for a Liverpool defeat is just being awkward tbh.

Nicely done. Off topic, but you should see the place Cantona lived in when he was in Manchester, man. Literally a modest semi. Albeit in the same gorgeous area where I happen to reside. I remember seeing his house on tv. I'm guessing around the time he jumped into the crowd at selhurst park. I was actually amazed, and quite impressed that a footballer of such standing would still live in a house like my mam and dads. Re Hatem, i read the other day he's living at the jesmond dene. I'd be more hopeful of him staying if he'd buy a house in the area. Sure it wasn't the article that says he has breakfast there every morning?

good job he's in the twilight years of his career and loves the toon then isn't it

But there's just a mini-season of five games to go, do squads matter as much at this stage? and ours are all fit....albeit with the slight caveat that Tiote and Colo have looked a bit frail recently -

Naturally I'll be happier with Champions league but I think Europa would be enough to keep the stars here and I expect us to continue to prove people wrong next season. This season it's been 'who'd have known after losing Barton/Nolan/Carroll/Enrique they'd be so good'. Next year it'll be 'wow, who'd have known moving on Danny Simpson would improve nufc so much, he was one of the best right backs in the league'. -

I'll be absolutely over the moon if we get into the Europa League whether it's through 5th or 6th.
