  1. 19) "I'd say he's the best in Europe, if you put me on the fence" What a man, I'd love him to have seen Cisse's second on wednesday, and hear him describe it. One thing I distinctly remember from his time here as manager is that if you were in the pub watching the match there would always be absolute silence for his pre and post match interviews, everyone just loved and respected him so much that you wanted to hear what he thought. And of course there was always the chance he would come out with something hilarious!
  2. Don't get all this 'handing the title to man u' stuff. They'll have done their fair share of work towards winning the league.

    Papiss Cissé

ok, i've assumed the brace position, what now?
  4. 1 point behind Arsenal At least now we're looking for the results of Arsenal and Spurs rather than just the latter.
  5. Don't want to see anyone hurt but he deserves the full treatment from the crowd and some hard but fair challenges, which he'll get.

    Alan Pardew

Was a great move to get to stamford bridge earlier than usual, his attention to detail really is good.
  7. So proud of all the lads last night, there was people shitting themselves during the last 30 minutes but I just kept pointing out the fact that Chelsea made NO chances in that half at all and that was down to the way we defended. Pardew has got them so well drilled in defence that we can see it out when we have to (with the exception of Arsenal away). We did it home and away to man u and we've seen out games countless times at home after going ahead. There's been the annoying exceptions like Wolves but I think with defensive reinforcements we'll see us even more solid at the back next year.
  8. Obertan on the break against Blackburn after THAT performance Carroll's dive Jose going in goal
  9. there is no fucking way that Simpson should be put back in at right back above Perch. Perch is better in almost every area you care to mention, being able to pass the football comfortably on the floor and being good in the air are just two of them, he won so many aerial challenges last night that would have had us under pressure if Simpson had been there.
  10. These odious wankers can afford to waste 50m on a new stadium that's not being built man, all because they used to win league titles and enjoyed the anomaly of a champions league win in the last few years. Please stay kenny, please stay.
  11. I've been saying for weeks that I think we'll beat them if the title race is over, however others (I think JH) have noted that Citeh fell apart when the pressure was on and picked up again when it was off, so lets hope the pressure gets to them when Cisse scores his first.
  12. good job the lads didnt give up at half time in Wigan like some of you lot

We were in Sammy Jacks watching it last night, I've not seen a reaction to a goal like that in a bar before, absolute bedlam.

I criticised for the 4-4-2 last night but he got it spot on, Chelsea didn't cause us any problems. Well done Alan!

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. His second goal was so good it took me a minute to remember the first one, and that was mint. He's ridiculous.
  16. Yeah, though i think Chelsea would take more advantage from us fielding a terrible footballer.
  17. If we put out a team that can defend well and counter attack i'm positive. If we set up in a rigid 4-4-2 and kick it at Ba and Cisse i'm not.
  18. 4-4-2 eh? can't say i'm looking forward to that much

It's all about picking your targets, my Ben Arfa shirt is the first one I've had a name put on in a long time.
  20. This. Nowt worse than that empty feeling we experienced so early at Spurs then again at Wigan on Saturday. What is funny though, is how the once in a lifetime result against Arsenal seems to have given a generation of fans an unfeasibly optimistic outlook during such games. In both of those heavy defeats I heard someone say around the 70 minute mark "well this is about the time we started the fight back against Arsenal". Probably tongue in cheek I know. The pessimism about tonight, to a lesser degree, reflects the mood before the Man U game in January. I reckon at worst we'll go down fighting and given a bit of luck might even pinch something. The Arsenal game certainly taught me one lesson, I switched the fucking game off at 4-0!
  21. Swings and roundabouts. You're buzzing now because you're on the verge of getting back into the CL after a fairly long time. It ain't the same if you're in it every year. Look at Arsenal. CL every year, but fuck all to show for it. They've got a pretty good team though, at this point most of us would settle for the chance to keep a good set of players together and add to them rather than the constant worry of all of them leaving. Champions League will help us do that.
  22. The radio gaga one is good
