SILLY MONEY
-
It was 'decided' (evident) that he had a terrible injury record before we even signed him. Nothing's changed.
-
The best response from Lineker to that would have just been a look of disgust and nothing said. That it was discussed even in jest speaks volumes.
-
Have made this point in the Pards thread, but who would you have brought him on for at 3-2 down? Pardew has already made the 'Ben Arfa will only play as a number 10' comment - so I think it's very hard to find a place for him on the pitch when we've only got 10 men. If he'd been brought on for Gosling after the 3rd goal, with Cabaye dropping off to anchor the midfield, that would have been a smart move IMO. If he doesn´t fit in with the system we are playing, and he isn´t going to be put on the wing, that would make him eligible for abt. 5 games each season. Tremendous waste of our best technical player who could serve a purpose no matter what kind of situation we are in. This is it like,Pardew needs to re-evaluate Ben Arfa. It's all very well saying he's made his decision,it's the wrong decision for the team and he needs to change his mind, whether that's at half time during a game or on a Tuesday on the training ground I don't mind. If someone good was keeping him out of the team it wouldn't be so bad,it's fucking Obertan.
-
I doubt the sanity of anyone who thinks this is our best bet at any point in any game with Jonas and Obertan on the wings.
-
The fact that he played alongside Shola today and scored two suggests otherwise.
-
Routledge isn't our player, people aren't calling for him. They are comparing our current right winger with a player who played in the same position for us recently. I don't see a better player than Routledge in Obertan. No but the mood on here is starting to permeate to the terraces. I'm not sure we're to blame like mate, he's just been crap No no I'm not blaming folk on here. My point is he needs time, he's not even had half a season of first team football. I still think he's adapting to English football. Ok,but the reason the stuff being said in the stands is the same as the stuff on here is because we're all watching the same player look less convincing with every performance. Mick's point about him standing still in space with the ball until someone approaches him is a good one. That's beyond basic, drive on ffs.

yep, that foul. you'd be having a word with a 12 year old who makes that foul, it's just basic defending.
-
Or is just finding his feet after a long term injury and will drift in and out of the team and in out of games until he is fully sorted. Oh absolutely, and that's fine, but at least give him the chance to. The alternative is Obertan man.

gonna have to rely on the mackems for a bit of footballing joy again this weekend, don't think they'll let me down.

Krul Simpson Perch Colo Raylor Obertan Cabaye Smith Jonas Ba Best imo -
even before the red card incident he had the worst first touch on the pitch today, and that's a pitch with Norwich City and Shola Ameobi on it. it's a glaring weakness in his game and he'll do nothing at CM with a first touch like that
-
got a beautiful first touch, never a left back in a million years
-
Utterly, utterly predictable. Spend some fucking money you fat cunt. On the bright side it's nice to see us getting next seasons transfers in early, because this lad will be like a new signing in august.

Reckon we'll see Raylor bact at left back if Colo's fit, unfortunately just got a feeling Pardew's gonna be way too stubborn and our good start's gonna hold us back in a weird way. -

yeah me too from now on we see if we deserve to finish 7th -
both goals were fucking great today, that little touch to set himself up for the second, quality.
-
One of three things has happened. Pardew's decided Ben Arfa isn't a winger. Ben Arfa's decided he's not a winger. Neither of the above but Pardew thinks Obertan offers more to the team. Whichever one it is it's worrying.
-
In the space of two games it's become pretty hard for me to watch him play for us tbh. He's completely ineffective going forward and nowhere to be seen when we're defending.
-
I'm pretty ashamed of it to be honest. How anyone can claim that Sammy's a better option as it stands I honestly don't know, and I like Sammy. Ben Arfa was not entirely ineffective in the last three games. At City he laid a chance on a plate for Ba through clever play and hit the post himself, he won us a penalty at Old Trafford! I like Sammy but the contributions are nowhere near comparable. Pardew needs to take a long hard look at himself over this not playing HBA on the wings thing because if the alternative is Obertan things aren't looking great.
