  1. haha, how can anyone say that wasnt a pen, the ball could have been sailing up the pitch from our goal kick and that would still be a blatant, intended trip by the defender, unless his leg suffered and in-voluntary spasm and shot towards martins, give it a rest man, thats a penalty
  2. all season mate, if he continues to look superior going forward
  3. and now i have an interest in watching it, sir bobs award should be right at the end though yeah?
  4. two good articles there, cheers mick as for the lies, can we start an e mail campaign? just draft up a short letter about how we know its lies and they're only embarassing themselves and we're boy-cotting their paper, etc, money usually talks, and just all send the same e mail every time this happens
  5. Scored again though. How do you know that the stupid run up didn't make the difference between Taylor just getting a touch to it and him actually saving it? And FWIW he's a pretty good finisher IMO i dont know it wasnt the difference mate, it really didnt look like it was though, and in my opinion there's better finishers on the pitch, viduka for a start I don't know for certain, but I seem to remember Viduka's penalty record for Australia is / was pretty bad. Assuming he is the player I am thinking of, but I'm pretty sure its him. ok, i'm not sure of his penalty record either, i just rate him as the better finisher, martins isnt anywhere near a competent finisher imo
  6. They're probably all just pissed off we didn't lose. you can say that when you've been to 300+ nufc games, stupid comment Using your criteria and having been to well over 300 games, i'll say it again then using different words: in my opinion, and that's all it is, the negativity of too many of our supporters is one of the key reasons we have played so badly. The negativity, which is also all over this forum, at matches scares the players shitless. Barton and Mort were both right and brave to piont this out. there's blatant negativity for the sake of negativity and there's seeing things for how they really are and not getting carried away with the result not many people stay on to cheer AFTER the result mate, support means support, seeing things for how they are is different to groaning EVERY time something doesnt work
  7. that type of foul has never been a red in the premier league, it was a simple professional foul, he was at fault for losing it but i can see his thinking in bringing him down before he went too far, its never, ever a red though

  9. People are being a bit unfair with this. Smart foul really, with attacker getting away from him, far better take him out there than risk a foul on the edge of the area and have us let in another wonder goal. If it was anyone else we wouldn't even be talking about it. yep
  10. haha yeah i saw them, didnt look like they were 'staring' anyone out to be honest, just getting into it, did you hear them calling people cunts?
  11. i have to say after reading all of the post match reaction i'm astounded that no-one's mentioned the penalty. i know that sam doesnt specify a penalty taker and he leaves it up to the players but for fucks sake can martins please never be allowed to take a penalty EVER again? haway, we all know finishing is the weakest part of his game and yet he was allowed to take a MASSIVE pen, imagine the atmosphere if he missed that, he tried his fucking best to, what on earth was that run up about!? positives, smith putting in another solid performance, starting to look like mr reliable, beye good AGAIN, milner worked hard and looked like he was always getting the best of his man, zoggy solid and potent going forward, barton looking more dangerous, if a bit erratic, good battling performance in our 3rd game of the week negatives, rozenhal getting worse by the game, quite a bit of fan unrest at mis-placed passes, even when we retained possesion, fair play to the players for plugging away i was in the newcastle arms before and after the game, afterwards everyone hushed for sams sky interview, everyone jeered when he mentioned the lads being tired after the 2 games previous, nice one lads, support
  12. regarding that incident, it was glaringly obvious that someone should have been there, we take every single throw in that way, trying to achieve exactly that, and the one time it happens, against ARSENAL! no-one was there!
  13. you're just gonna have to accept that sam prefers left footers on the right and vice versa, isnt it obvious now? i dont imagine he'll ever change his mind, even when we've got two fit players for every position in a 4-3-3 i reckon it'll still be set up like that.
  14. this is a joke, right?
  15. delighted. for sam, for the lads, but mostly for us, we got a very good performance tonight from our team. to be fair arsenal didnt really turn up, but if arsene wenger is gonna say that we stopped them from playing then i'm in no position to argue with him, i reckon he knows more about football than me. smith was class, i was always confident he'd do something with the ball tonight, beye looked solid, barton's getting better by the game, although did play a couple of stray passes but i'm sure this will go away once he gets back to full fitness. excellent to see that sam has gotten the lads to turn around the performances after liverpool, he's shown he can get them motivated at the LEAST, seeing him do his nut on the touchline was brilliant, passion. well done everyone, lets keep up the support, even if things AREN'T going our way, we owe it to ourselves to make it happen.
  16. nailed on he'll play someone 'out of position', i want mourinho in after 28 games
  17. totally agree coach, top post, get that printed up in numbers and i'll happily hand it out outside the ground tomorrow night
  18. born in north shields, live in tynemouth, so yes and no
  19. We were in the game and put a decent performance in sat, V Liverpool we were never in it from the 1st kick. that, and the away support is always better than home support, for any team
  20. i'm with you benwell lad, lets try and get behind the team and show those cockney fuckers (arsenal AND the press) we cant be dictated to, this is our club
  21. Which one was it? I've been a Newcastle fan all of my life and i've never been as embarrassed as I was after the Liverpool match. It wasn't the performance, but the fans who acted so childshly. We've been spoilt by the relative success of the Keegan and Robson era's which has vastly inflated expectations. We need to understand that our performances over the past few seasons haven't been down to bad luck, but bad players and bad management. We're not a top six or even a top eight club and haven't been for a while now. The blame doesn't lie at the feet of Allardyce, Mort or Ashley but the likes of Souness, Shepherd and Douglas Hall. Give Big Sam time and he'll get it right. nice one mate, totally agree with you
