This is utter bollocks. If he was in a better team he'd still be a useless twat who can't control a ball, can't pass and couldn't finish his fucking dinner. If he got a lot more chances in front of goal, all it would do is give him a chance to come up with new ways to squander them. It wasn't that long ago when he was absolutely pivotal to us, and there was that stat being bundled about him being our most important player, blah blah. People keep banging on about him not having any composure, but I think that mainly stems from a lack of confidence. Against defences in the Championship, he ought to know that he's better than anyone else in there.

I'd like to gamble on him, if it was up to me. He's not world class, but he should have enough about him to rape the championship.

Bear in mind that it wasn't entirely the players fault that we went down. We do have a few solid players who could easily play in a top 6 team, and we must try to keep them no matter what it takes. If we let 90% of our squad go in this window we will be stuck in the CC league (or worse) for a very, very long time.

I hope we aren't going to sell all of the players who might attract a premier league club's attention. Just sell enough to balance the books to a certain extent, and stop there.

We thought that with Bramble and Faye though didn't we? I think we need to hold onto Bassong if possible. Not sure we will be able to but Shearer will probably push for him to be given a decent deal. Well, I wouldn't put Bramble in there but I agree with the sentiment. People need to remember we're a championship club now, getting "solid players" wasn't easy while we were in the prem, and its not going to get any easier now. Bassong has the potential to be far better than Faye and the like, at any rate.

Ryan Taylor sometimes looks like he has some ability about him, but he's even stupider than Saylor ffs. The bumbles Raylor made would make Bramble look like Maldini by comparison.

I think _if_ we only stay down there for a season, we could keep a few of our better players and replace the rest with youngsters. Thats the best case scenario anyway. Luckily for us, the highest earners at the club are mostly deadwood (Geremi, Owen, Cacapa, Butt, Smith, Barton), so getting rid of them shouldn't weaken us too much.

Taylor was also the only one who looks fit too. What is it about our fitness? That was always how it was going to look when our "engine room" was being run by Kevin Nolan and Nicky Butt.

Aren't the strikers being rated a tad harshly? They had nothing but blind punts pointed at them all game long, and Viduka did well to make a fist out of any of them. In the end, it was our central midfield that sent us down.
