  1. *cough* Stoke have only lost 3 matches at home this season. Not saying that you're not right about that, but saying "its Stoke" implies that they're there for the taking.
  2. He's got it dead on here. Hes always out far to wide to be truly effective. We can praise him about his class forever, but its no use if he doesnt know how to make it effective in the pemier league. So far this season, he has only done it three or four times. Jonas' delivery has been shocking tbf. If we had someone on the other flank who could cross, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but unfortunately, we don't... Regardless of how shocking it is, its easy for a man with his ability to make the space he needs to get the cross in. He simply has to try it more often.
  3. Beye clearly isn't a natural centerback, and Taylor's recently proven that he can play CB, so I'd just start them in their preferred positions instead.
  4. Ah yes, the good old days. I remember how quick and exciting our counter attacks were when we played Everton, and that was how I fell in love with NUFC
  5. Short memories? In the early part of the season he was class for us, like there was an aura of assurance about him. Colo's build does not strike me as "weak", it just seems to me that he does not know how to apply himself more physically, that is to play at "our level" where players are expected to go "all in" on tackles. Give him a little more time, and I'm sure he'll pick up a thing or two from the likes of Smith.

    4-3-3

Bolton!? Sadly yes But I meant Liverpool of course where Mr Guthrie graduated from their Academy, with some Scousers I know saying it was sad to see the lad go as he never got a proper chance. Sad really that what they deem not good enough is a cut above our lot. Liverpool reserves at best then

    Ryan Taylor/Nolan

Nolan contributes about as much as Smith usually does nowadays, so no, he isn't a footballer.
  8. Wtf? You must have broken your knee caps there From the outside that isn't a particularly unfair assessment. Emotional because it comes after a defeat, but I'm not sure how the '37m for players who are contributing jack all' can be strongly argued against. They're not producing. Then again, most aren't. I stopped reading when I read "Martins is a talented street footballer" <_< The player assessments are fair, but the transfer fees weren't decided by the players and we didn't buy them all in a single season. "Born in Lagos, Martins joined the local football club F.C. Ebedei at the age of 14, having been scouted by manager Churchill Oliseh while playing on the streets of his hometown." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obafemi_Martins At age of 14? Most professional players have been in clubs for seven or eight years by then. Probably the "F.C. Ebedei" wasn't much better from street football either. Inter must have laughed all the way to the bank and considering they replaced the guy with Crespo and Ibrahimović at least their management and player recruitment was up to the task. ... I don't think the "majority" of professional players begun their careers when they were only 6-7 years old, especially if they're from Africa. I don't need to explain why we need Martins, do I? You're right about the recruitment team not being up to the task though.
  9. Haha, i would too admittedly, but what exactly are you basing that on? Only those brief glimpses when he was playing but even so there was something about him that says that if he was playing a bit more regular he would be banging them in. I mean he can't do any worse than Owen and Martins at the moment. It astonishes me that the two of them _still_ can't link up if their lives depended on it.

  11. Loven isn't a midfielder though.
  12. Agree with the OP, but I don't think we'll have that luxury.
  13. Why is it always a contest? This is the Martins thread and he was shit today. So was Owen, happy? Owen wasn't bad really, and I don't think Martins was particularly horrid either. The service was beyond pathetic today, but that tends to happen against a team of Chelsea's calibre.
  14. Colo's a complete shadow of himself now, sigh. Needed to be rested long before this.
  15. Smith to come off (the bench) and score 3 goals, winning kaizero 100 quid or whatever the odds are.
  16. Hope Beye and Colo have figured out how to play with each other over the last two weeks.
  17. Is there a reason Xisco should be expected to start this game?
  18. I'd root for Spurs even if we were in the European spots. Would love to see Big Sam get relegated. Thats a tough one for me.
