There's nee stink without shite mate. There is a bit of a difference between being "linked with a takeover" and having a foriegn billionaire tour the ground and training facilities in his Helicopter on the day you do away with your manager... And I'm not sure how many of these "top" managers turned us down. Reading that it doesn't seem we've approached any of them, they're just distancing themselves from the speculation. However, not sure what to make of this little bit: Ranieri is still the absolute red-hot favourite everywhere, 3 alleged sightings on monday. I hope he's either lying to keep Parma sweet, or he means that City haven't contacted him but Shinawatra has. Cos he's definetly the man I want.

Who'd have thunk it eh. But there you have it. No doubt his record helped by the fact Bryan Robson never seemed to pick him, even when he came off the bench to score a hattrick in half an hour that time. I'd just like to take this opportunity to name and shame NSG for his attempts to get the answer out of me via PM. tut tut

I'll give you a clue: He's still playing - but not in the Premiership.
-
No-one on that list. And stop trying to cheat

The question said minutes, not games.
-
Can we assume some sort of City connection? No. Never played for Manchester City. Never played for Newcastle either for what its worth.
-
Nah, he was around a while. (Ooh, past tense? Clue-tastic!)

You're going to have to try much harder than that. The answer is nowhere near that obvious :parky:

Louis van Gaal, Ronald Koeman and Gerard Houllier have been ruled out by their clubs. However, the Independent seems to think its all sewn up - but the man in question is waiting until his domestic season is over to tell his club - Which could mean anyone, apart from Koeman. Ranieri remains the hot favourite - Odds-on in several places, no-one quoting outside 2/1. Fingers crossed

Here's another one: Thierry Henry has the best minutes/goal ratio in the history of the Premier League. Who is 2nd?

Come to think of it, we don't have one 'hard man' in our entire squad. Keane would win pretty easy, if we're taking this whole thing literally. We don't have a player who you'd say would obviously be a great fighter in our team. All the tenacious ones are quite small, while the big fuckers we have seem a bit soft. Martins would probably be useful in a fight. Gooch could punch the snot out of 99% of the league tbh. Was gonna mention him, but he's not really our player anymore. Craig Moore? I bet he's had a few scuffles. :parky:

The classic who would win in a fight topic... This came up on a City forum not so long ago in the aftermath of Barton vs Dabo, tried to work out which City player is the hardest. There were two schools of thought. One - Someone massive like Dunne or Distin (Or shall we say, the Allardyce school) or two - the mentalists - Barton, or my nomination, Paul Dickov (Or, the Roy Keane school). Since I'm of the opinion that no footballers really know how to fight (Anyone seen Franny Lee vs Norman Hunter?) I would have to go to whoever has the most experience, the most heart, and the shortest fuse. Keane, a former boxer, a born winner, and a mentalist twat, would clean Allardyce out IMO.

I'm scared of technology, Dr S. I think he uses it to transmit mind rays to disrupt the opposition, and that Kevin Davis is actually made of Lego Mindstorms or something. Could explain Lescott's hilarious interpretation of the offside trap a few weeks back... The truth is out there?

Allardyce confirmed as Newcastle manager - 3 year deal.

Never wanted him anyway -

I would dump the overrated Vidic for either Carvalho or Carragher. I would put Finnan infront of Eboue. I'm not fussed about Shorey as I don't think their has been any single outstanding LB. The exclusion of Paul Scholes would be baffling if the team wasn't selected by a complete and utter retard. Easily ahead of Gerrard for me. And Tevez hasn't done enough over the season, but I'm not sure who I would put there instead. An actual Left Winger? Matt Taylor for the wondergoals maybe. I'd also change Garth Crooks for someone with more than half a brain.

Fake. Seen the "same" kit for other clubs, they have the badge in the middle.
-
Totally guessing. Two players I don't remember scoring - Babayaro? Woodgate?
-
I've read you post on this subject before...Why don't you like the headset Brummie?
-
Dude...its Michael Johnson? re: The fence, the ball...its you know...retro. Its grown on me now. I like it. Prefer it with a smaller, lower sponsor, the proper badge and no stripes but I think its pretty good. Just waiting for the away kit now. And the new lesiure gear, got some snazzy brands.

Who in the media gets on your tits?

Henry Winter. One of the most respected football journalists out there... He does look like some new species of toad though and his voice is annoying. My hate list- Jim White, Phil Thompson, David Pleat, John Motson, Andy Gray & Rodney Marsh Beagrie's is 1000 times worse. Peter Beagrie crashed a moped through a plate glass window into a hotel reception on a pre-season tour You just can't not like him. Unless he played for your club and him beating the same player 3 times in a row instead of getting a cross in wound you up. http://www.thefa.com/NR/rdonlyres/ABD0645A-A65A-4B5A-A6BE-C346A7F8202F/48448/ManCity_Beagrie_1995_H.jpg What a star... Paul Walsh too. I like him. Hard not to like players you liked. -
This came up on a City forum not so long ago - Someone had the audicity to suggest Heighway should be brought to City. I thought it was a rediculous idea, did a bit of research and came to the conclusion that the only player Liverpool have brought through their academy in the last ten years who is still playing in the premiership is Stephen Warnock. I think thats a bit shit for a club with so much money and pulling power. Not sure why anyone would want him near their club.
