Even aside from Chubber's it's a goldmine tbf. The stark contrast from Michael Bolton videos to some poor guy just wanting to talk to his wife when he inevitably gets punted to some lower league side got me.

    He couldn't get more cliché.
  3. Not pretty in any way whatsoever but fuck it, first game back is a win and quarter finals in a relatively friendly looking draw. Lets hope we can get back to converting. Some of tonight's wasted chances, man.
  4. I still hope he progresses under Howe, don't get me wrong, but I think a big thing with that is we're building towards not needing an individual maverick to dig us out of holes and that building seems to have progressed a lot faster than any of us genuinely thought it would. If he doesn't show something in the second half of the season I can see the club cashing in in the summer, purely due to a mix of his inconsistency (fitness as much as on-pitch), and being one of the more saleable assets from the former regime to balance the books a bit. As someone else said, I just hope he doesn't go to a PL club as it'd definitely come back to bite us in the arse if he plays against us.
  5. Thought the same but didn't want to post anything that could be construed even slightly as a compliment to the prick.
  6. It's not often I want Argentinian success but I'll be much happier to see Messi finally win the big one than another French victory. That Messi will do so as a 35 year old driving force compared to a 37 year old Cronaldo seemingly doing nothing but embarrass himself nowadays just make it all the more satisfying.
  7. I imagine he'll go elsewhere even if we tried, but for how much Rice would probably cost I also imagine the club would see better value in spreading that kind of money across two other targets at this stage in the team's development. I wouldn't argue if we get him by any means but I won't feel like we've lost out hugely if we can't/aren't interested.
  8. It was a shame he didn't get a chance at redemption under an actual football coach like Fab but appreciate he's a few years older and I trusted Howe's judgement if he deemed Fede the one most surplus to requirements. Think it says it all if Elche have done the same after just three months. Always seemed a good egg so I'm sure he'll land somewhere that can make use of him for his last days if he wants to keep going.
  9. I vote option c) Go full kit wanker for both.
  10. Don't forget the World Club Cup and Charity Shield. Wouldn't mind a couple more Diriyah Season Cup wins, too. Maybe another cheeky Teresa Herrera trophy for old times sake.
  11. This has been a legendarily shocking ref performance but it doesn't particularly feel like a robbery. Outside of getting penalties I couldn't picture anyone actually scoring.

    Loris Karius

I haven't watched yesterday's match but I never understood why he was available anyway? Seemed really strange to me that no one took a punt on him just because he was deemed surplus to requirements by Liverpool, irrespective of any gaffes in his time with them.
  13. I thought I'd completely missed it being a regularly used nickname or something he's seemed so confident in using it. Weird as fuck.
  14. Fucking hell. Buzzing for extra time as long as they can sub the ref out.
  15. Who knew just blowing the whistle like you've got ADHD wouldn't keep a match under control?
  16. Fucking hell ref stop blowing your whistle and go and talk to them.

    The Round of 16

So satisfying to watch Portugal excel without Cronaldo on the pitch.

    The Round of 16

Wow. Is this the shittest penalty shootout in world cup history?

    The Round of 16

I know he's only doing his job but Jenas critiquing penalties triggers the fuck out of me.
  20. Based on his Rangers experience I wonder if he'll try and strongarm them into giving him some sort of cut of profits without having to properly invest in/make decisions surrounding the club regularly.
  21. Imagine thinking they'd waste two years trying to buy us, finally succeed and then ditch us after a year. All because Man U are 'for sale', as if that would've stopped them if they wanted to put an offer in three years ago. We were criminally undervalued as a takeover prospect for so many years. I don't know where BrownBottle saw the £1b estimate but it honestly wouldn't shock me as from a speculation perspective, we've already seen the jump this club can make purely by no longer having Ashley dragging us down, let alone when we really get rolling. PIF will be pissing themselves at the return on investment when the time does come to walk away, whenever that may be.

    The Round of 16

Honestly I think Pickford would drive me up the wall as a teammate. 3-0 up, a wayward shot goes out for a corner and he's tearing in to them. Give it a fucking rest, man.
