Didn't Pulis recently come out with quotes to the effect that he would still get a base salary even if not playing? It's just significantly less than if he does play?
Reckon that's more usual than getting nowt as a basic wage, btw.
Remember this coming up a while back. Irritates me the way these deals get mooted as 'pay as you play' when all it really is, is a lower wage than the player is used to with a higher appearance fee. I'd honestly be surprised if there were many, if any professional footballers who genuinely didn't get paid a penny unless they set foot on the pitch.
