  1. Don't know what you mean by woeful.I alway thought he did a decent job, never hid ,had a hell of a shot on himand was MILES better than the sh+t we have now. I'm an Everton fan and he's one of the crappest players I've ever seen.
  2. Blackburn/Wigan/Fulham/Bolton/Reading Take your pick. All shitty clubs with no fans and no real tradition. It would be nice if the likes of Sheff Wed, Forest and Leeds could get back up

    Sunday Rumours

I hope you do sign beattie so we can finally sign Nugent

    Odd league table

Reading is the only suprise there for me Bolton have been up there the past few seasons and 'Arry brought in a lot of decent players after the takeover
  5. Fabregas, Alonso and Arteta are amongst the better midfielders in this league. Campo and Hierro did well for Bolton too. I would probably say oriental players- Li Tie and Sun are bollocks, Lee Young Pyo was a big flop and Park hasn't done the business consistently There have been plenty of eastern european failures as well.
  6. Okkas is going on trial at Blackburn for a few days around christmas
  7. Nice to see Valente get some recognition, kept Diouf and Anelka quiet I saw Given's saves on MOTD- some top drawer ones

    Shaun Maloney

Linked with Norwich last week. I think he'd be worth a go for a couple of Prem sides if he was available on loan.
  9. Us and Liverpool only got 2,900 so there's no way they'd give yourselves double that
  10. Crazy. Has he not been their best player for the previous few years? Thought he was a favourite down there rather than a hate figure
  11. Don't you need some that can hold the ball up, head it and has a bit of strength? Not another fast, short arse supporting striker like Martins and Owen? Though I suppose if you keep spending £10m on those players one of them will work out
  12. Can't see it kicking off with Havant & Waterlooville like, no matter who they played. Millwall have got this big reputation but their away support could travel on a skateboard.

    Mike Newell

Women- know your limits. End of.
  14. Playing devil's advocate to some of your points Knightrider- The professional set up? Is this the club who have just had a long standing director resign for attacking the manager in the press? And have had a couple of failed takeover bids due to a chairman that doesn't have enough funds for a title challenge not wanting to give up his toy? The stadium project that still hasn't started work when it was supposed to be close to finished about now? The top notch scouting network that signed Sissoko after the manager read in the newspaper that Everton had a bid accepted? Got the bargain Pennant for a fee rising to £8m or something ridiculous and unearthed gems like Pellegrino, Josemi, Nunez, Gonzalez, Zenden? Though there have been some good buys too like Agger, Kuyt and Alonso I think you're going overboard with how great the scouting system is. Seems nothing special from the outside looking in- hit and miss like most clubs. Arsenal are still top dogs when it comes to scouting. The CL success was a great achievement there is no disputing that but I think it was a one-off that papered over some of the cracks in the team and raised expectations too high for both fans and media. I think most would agree they look as far as ever from winning the league again. They actually finished higher under Houllier (2nd) than Benitez has managed (5th, 4th and probably 3rd/4th this year). He added an FA Cup last season but that is more just a reasonable achievement than a great one imo considering the outlay on the squad before and during his reign. I think they are caught between being too good for teams outside Chelsea, United and Arsenal but not being good enough to compete for the title with one single league victory against the rest of the "big four" during his reign.

    Carling Cup draw

Spurs and Charlton have had easy draws all the way. I can see Spurs getting to the final.

Nugent was in the Main Stand at Goodison on wednesday night. Rumours that Leighton Baines was there as well but I'm not sure about that one. Nugent was defo there though. Would be two quality signings for you bluesigh.gif I'd have mixed feelings on spending millions on Baines, we let him go from our academy to Wigan in the first place.

  18. He had one really good game in the CL against Benfica so Van Basten will call him up on the strength of that alone to make up the numbers since he refuses to use the older heads like Seedorf
  19. Sorry but Mexes would laugh down the phone if his agent called him up about Newcastle The lad has been linked with Real madrid for the past year and has said he's not interested because he wants to try and win Serie A with Roma

    Andy Johnson

I see everyone has bought into the media line then It was a blatant penalty last night, same as against Fulham. Since Wenger opened his mouth he's suddenly seen as one of the worst divers around. Laughable.
  21. I would be very surprised to see Nugent moving for anything like £3m. Prepare to be suprised then. £4m is what they're supposed to be asking for. I'll be shocked if he doesn't sign for Everton. He's a blue, he's on record saying how much he wants to play for us, always linked in the press and we've been scouting him for about 2 years. Hopefully it will be Beattie out and Nugent in during January rather than the summer.
  22. And a surefire way to make sure you go down Pack in playing Champ Manager
  23. Since when do you need a DOF to bring in promising foreign youngsters? Just get a good scouting network set up that liaises with the first team manager.

    Rooney

I hate him but to say he's been crap for a year is nonsense. He dragged Man Utd to second last season, without him they would have been fucked. He's had a bad spell of form since getting injured before the world cup and suddenly he's overrated and shit? He's the most talented English player in many years. He could improve by adding more goals to his game (he's certainly capable of it) but he's always been more about creating anyway.
