He's better than Smith (but so am I ) and probably on a par with the others. On paper, Barton is easily the best of the lot but he doesn't actually produce the goods much these days. He's somewhere between Nolan & Guthrie in style. His technique and passing isn't as good as Guthries (it's pretty poor) but he's harder working and more likely to get forward and grab a goal. Nolan without a season ticket for Greggs maybe. I don't really rate him though and haven't from very early on. He lacks the pace and skill to be anything more than an average player.
  2. Playing for Schalke isn't that bad actually. He might win the Bundesliga with them next season. I'd be utterly flabbergasted if Bayern didn't retain their title. Kroos & Braafheid to come back in and they're bound to buy some others. Raul is going to get some more CL football under his belt though. Braafheid The Celtic flop? Really?
  3. Huntelaar has failed in Italy & Spain so it's very likely he won't succeed in England either if he goes there. Lucas & Skrtl are two big weak spots down the spine of the team as well and it remains to be seen what quality of left back they can afford. My guess is someone average. I'd be very surprised if they were top 4. Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal, Spurs & City have far better squads and I'd say we're on a par with them. We had worse injury problems than any other side and were only 2 points behind them in the end.
  4. I just don't understand how every year we've got no money. We should be buying him. If he goes to City it will make me sick.
  5. Sevilla willing to pay 9m euros for Arteta according to Graham Hunter on Sky
  6. I hate it when clubs suddenly plaster gold trim all over the kit to try and look "classy" See also: Pompey.
  7. How do you know this already? scouting on youtube?
  8. Wow. I might be wrong but he didn't even impress much at Preston did he?
  9. Shut up. Seriously.
  10. ...and Sky's new advert has Drogba, Nani, Van Persie and......(Bale? Modric? Lennon?)....Tevez. The Sky 4 are dead, long live the Sky 4. Crawley is a horrible place. Wow. That's ridiculous. It's always been a rule at Sky that they have a player from each of the top 4. Cahill was on all the ads about 5 years ago.

Wahey! Really though you should be pissed off at your admin and people behind the scenes, not Gosling. It's a clanger of epic proportions, something Newcastle-esque, and really you ought to be concentrating why your club lost you £3-5m not take it out on Gosling. Naive and unprofessional on the clubs part, lessons need to be learnt from it. However, Gosling comes out of it very badly as well. Through his injury he has been having his wages paid and the best medical treament provided but all the while him and his agent are working on exploiting a loophole to get a free transfer? That's pretty low. He's also screwed his hometown club who have just been relegated out of any future sell-on fees, appearence clauses etc Not that most footballers are any less twattish. But, still.

If all that is true you would have to wonder what Hughton see's in him? A free transfer isn't good business if he's no better than we already have. It will be interesting to see whether Hughton has a better eye for a player than your average Joe Bloggs (BB version). ...and David Moyes. Everton clearly didn't want to let him go and he did generally seem to be in and around the first team at Goodison when fit, not bad going when you consider some of the players Everton have at their disposal. If Everton saw something in him well that's good enough for me like. He was nothing more than a sub when he was fit (unless there were other injuries). Gosling is really slow and hasn't got much ability on the ball. The two positives to his game I'll give him are that he tries hard and has a bit of a knack for getting into goalscoring positions. Maybe managers see something else in him that we don't but I'd be surprised if he ended up amounting to much. I couldn't care less that he's gone in a footballing sense but the way he's done it rankles a bit.
  13. Moutinho for £9m is a shock. We were supposedly getting quoted £15-20m for the past two years and had bids of more than £9m rejected. Staying in Portugal is a bit of a cop out on his part as well. Not to mention a big 'fuck you' to the Sporting fans.
  14. No, it's his fault for going to a barbers in a rough area thinking that because he's a footballer he's untouchable. That £7 badman haircut from the local Caribbean barber must seem really worth it now Oh, well since you put it like that... you'd still be wrong. Sorry but I struggle to have any sympathy for someone who literally has shitloads more money than sense. It's especially daft in this case since the reason he's gone to a barbers like that is to look "gangster". Instead, he's nearly in tears after a run in with the local mandem.

  16. Beardsley  He's got not skill whatsoever, is slow as f*** and can't take a man on. Nothing like Beardsley even in style, nevermind quality. I wouldn't really care if he left tomorrow tbh. Just not for free. What's the general opinions of Everton fans about Pedro? For me - he's my footballing idol, an absolute God, of which most Newcastle fans think the same. I know he was regarded highly as well by Liverpool - just you never hear what Everton fans thought of him. Great player for us but he's not regarded as a hero or legend of any sorts.
  17. Eh? Arteta has been class for Everton for a number of seasons now. Big injury last season, 28, last chance to move for good money. Yeah, a big injury and then he came back and was top class again coinciding with our great run of form. It's impossible to understate how important he is to our team. Ireland is half the player and has a reputation bigger than he deserves so to say he'd work better here than Arteta is just total nonsense to be frank. If he's that good a player then he deserves his chance at a big club then. He is that good. If it was someone like Inter and they were offering cash then I'd be gutted but could accept it. Going to City who aren't even in the CL for a pisstake offer would be another matter entirely.
  18. I'd still be very apprehensive. I'd rather Arteta just stayed because the damage him leaving would do to our side is huge. I don't think we could replace him adequately without spending over £20m and players in that bracket probably wouldn't want to come to Everton anyway. Steven Ireland certainly can't replace him. On paper an offer of Ireland/Onouha/Bellamy would improve the squad as a whole but I think in practice we'd be weakened because the midfield would have a gaping hole.

  20. I'd like Holland to win most. I've always liked them and enjoyed watching them in tournaments over the years.
  21. Yeah, to reject. Insulting offer. I f***ing despite City. Why because they were a similar club to yours before they got multi-billionaire owners? No. 1) They're mancs 2) They've had more underhand transfer dealings in 2 years than Madrid have in a lifetime 3) Their fans are now the most arrogant twats on the planet and suddenly there are tons of them crawling out of the woodwork btw they are nothing like Everton thanks and weren't pre-money either.
  22. Ireland is decent but not on the same level as Arteta. Onouha, again, I agree is a solid defender. Thing is though, you could buy the pair of them for £15m. Michael Johnson isn't worth a penny and would be a waste of wages. So basically they're offering £10m less for Arteta than they did for Milner when Arteta is the better player of the two. They're completely taking the piss.
  23. Yeah, to reject. Insulting offer. I fucking despite City.
  24. They'll have to improve a hell of a lot to beat Germany.
