He's a vile c***. I hope one of our players ends his career when they get promoted after what he did to Arteta. What did he do to arteta? Did him with a blow to the head that left him flat on his back having convulsions on the pitch, had to wear a neck brace etc. Pretty sure it was him anyway. He was definitely the one who spat in McFadden's face and at Duncan Ferguson. Big Dunc wasn't happy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/iamlimbo/3706a8c2.jpg

...and that HAS to be down to the manager and coaches ; I reckon Robertson takes a lot of credit for Milner's progress, but NUFC have to accept responsibilty for either not playing him in the right position, or not developing his ability into the sort of player he now is. Maybe KK would have moved him inside - he certainly didn't want to sell him. Well, Keegan didn't want Smith or Owen to be sold either. By that stage, Milner was a pawn in the power struggle between him and Wise. Credit to O'Neill because what he spotted in Milner was potential, not performance. I don't think any of the other big clubs were interested or prepared to pay anything like that money. And it's not like Milner slotted instantly into a regular first team place at Villa. What Milner has got is a fantastic attitude to self-improvement. His physical fitness is now quite astonishing, for someone who doesn't look like the greatest natural athlete. He also thrives on responsibility, and while he wasn't ready for that central role while he was with us, he's got there with Villa. iirc Moyes also wanted him when he joined Villa. I was made up we never got him at the time because I thought £12m was a ridiculous price, not looking that way anymore though.

I think the most worrying thing is that this whole story started with some bollocks posted on a Villa blog which hardly anyone ever reads, was picked up by TalkSport and the Mirror and grew from there. What does that say about the state of our media? MON has his faults - quite a few of them - and I'm starting to doubt whether he'll ever take us higher than sixth, but he is absolutely not the sort of person to walk away. He's installed his people all over the club - didn't like two CEOs, got them both replaced. Didn't like the Press Officer, got one of his best mates installed. He runs the club from top to bottom, he's not going to flounce off after one awful result and a bit of the sort of booing that you get everywhere (which, of course, doesn't get picked up on quite so much if it is, say, Arsenal fans booing Eboue, or Spurs fans booing their side). To be fair his "efforts to bring clarity to the situation" were downright pathetic. I, and seemingly everyone else that watched it, thought his efforts were put into avoiding the question and refusing to commit either way. All he had to do was give a straight answer!

Extremely strange press conference from him today. Never definitively said he would be there next season when asked.
-
Yeah, I think a lot of that was down to van Bommel who marshalled the team so well and kept them pressing United all game. He's a player that's been criticised a lot in recent years but I've always liked him and thought he did a superb job in the middle tonight, so assured.
-
I thought Olic was absolutely shit. Headless chicken just like every time I saw him play for CSKA. Took the goal well to be fair, but I don't rate him at all and can't believe he's ended up at Bayern. They look pretty poor up front these days actually. Missing Lucio at the back big time as well but the midfield was impressive and still has Robben & Schweinsteiger to come in.
-
IIRC he did well in his first season turning round a side that looked like they would go down if O'Leary had stayed on without spending much. Since the Lerner takeover they've spent a lot of money and he's delivered the bare minimum on that investment.

police dont want trouble or something id say, not that theres much to be worried about imo, not like blackburn have fans Burnley/Blackburn is one of the worst derbies for trouble. I'm surprised people don't seem to know this.

Trust me, they're gonna overtake 1 of the top 4 challengers. Wolves are pretty good at home so a draw wasn't so bad. We'll overtake Villa who seem to be having their annual late-season collapse. We were unlucky today. Dominated the game and had some good chances, Wolves defended well though and we had an off day in front of goal. Happens sometimes.
-
I think he would think he's too good to take the Celtic job. Arrogant cunt with ideas above his station. He'll probably end up at West Ham in the summer if a) they stay up & b) scrape together more than £20 and a multi-pack of Walkers to offer for players. They're the only decent club that could be looking for a manager soon (bar Liverpool & maybe Chelsea, neither of whom would touch Hughes with a bargepole)

We've got by far the easiest run-in of the lot but we've left it a bit too late to get fourth. It would take a collapse by more than one side. tbh I wouldn't mind finishing 6th/7th and still missing out on the Europa League because less games would make it easier to have a proper push for 4th next season.

I'm sure it was announced on our O/S last week Neil. I remember reading about it somewhere anyway.

Yep. Tottenham are out of sight and have long been my pick for 4th. I believe City still have you and Villa to play: we have Villa to play away, and there's no reason whatsoever that we can't go there and win. Liverpool won't drop lower than 6th. They just won't, unfortunately. All we can do is keep our form going and hope the sides above continue to wobble. As you say, our resilience is well and truly back and I was sure we at least wouldn't get beat today and was mildly confident of winning. Let's see where we are after the Villa game. 7th will most probably give you Europe, too. The way it's going, yes. I think I'm right in saying Chelsea winning the FA Cup will make 7th a European spot, as would Spurs or Villa winning it if they finish 5th (or indeed 4th). We have a good chance in that respect. Would love to finish 6th, ahead of Liverpool and City. Unlikely though. Edit: 29 points from the last 13 league games. f***ing injuries. Just imagine what would have been if you didn't have that poor start. Moyes is a genius imo. Even though it might hurt us, i hope he gets a lot of money to spend next season. I want to see what he can do with cash, rather then the current '1 in 1 out' policy. Oh and Hetinga has been very good. I promise you, at Atletico he was a pile of steaming crap (ask Village). Credit to Moyes for that signing for sure. Heitinga is a great player. One of the most passionate I've ever seen at the club as well, he's become a cult hero within 6 months. It was brilliant to put City back in their place. Again. f***ing hate those deluded nobheads. I remember reading a City forum a few months ago for FF research and they spoke like they were playing Footie Man. "We'll buy Ribery and Messi next year and win the CL, 150m would do". Shitting you not. Heitinga has flourished in that DM spot. He was RB at Atlético and he was total rubbish there. Masterstroke signing for your lot. They're a bunch of idiots. Bluemoon is the most ridiculous forum in the world, the way they talk about signing players is like they're collecting Pokemon cards. There are actually multiple posts on there tonight saying they should buy any combination of Arteta/Fellaini/Pienaar/Rodwell/Heitinga... just like that. Everton are seemingly on a par with Yeovil Town while City are up there with Madrid by the sounds of it. Lets just ignore the fact we've won far more than them, finished above them nearly every year in my life and have always been a bigger club than them. They've like, er... got loads of money... and that. Massive!

Don't make me dig the all-time table out...

Nah, I think half a season solid football in a decent Championship side will help him. He's shown a lot of promise but we've got a (relatively) settled side atm. I say give him his main chances next season. Neville has been ridiculously bad for the past few months though. I was watching him closely on Saturday and I'm pretty sure he didn't win a single tackle without conceding a foul, the amount he dived in for and didn't even come close to winning was unreal. My head nearly exploded when I saw a match report the following Monday which had Neville's world cup chances as its main angle. Coleman should be building up his experience with us. We've got nothing to play for now anyway.
-
3 assists for Coleman in his second game for Blackpool Should be starting for us every week, not pissing about in a league he's too good for.
-
3-0?? Zola has got to go. West Ham are actually an ok side on paper.

He's a petulant, narky little bastard every single time Liverpool aren't winning and/or playing well. The media never make anything of it though.
