Cracking post. Exactly how I feel. This place is still special, we are a little bit out on a limb geographically and we are different. People know and recognise that, Geordies and outsiders alike. I know I might be being a little naive but I honestly think we have something here, it’s still there, let’s hope Ashley and his team can get the magic back.

Hmm, I'd say " those who win stuff on a consistant basis" are good/great teams. Nottingham Forest have never ever been a big club, they just had a spell where they had an excellent team. You can still be a big club and have a crap team. The words "Nail", "Hammer", "Hit", "Head" and "on the" spring to mind

I think we are at least as big as Chelski, it just so happens at this minute in time they have a rather rich Sugar-Daddy. Obviously Barca are a bigger club than us and there are a few others but don't sell us short, we are a big club.

Darren Bent is by no means a target man We have an option to take a gamble with Carroll, or try and sign one those: Nikola Zigic, Jan Koller, Alan Smith (can work great as a target man) , Stefen Iversen (scored something like 20+ goals this season), etc.. But i don't think a player like Darren Bent will do us any good at the moment.. Also No, No and err........No. Koller will do a decent job like, he is THE target man, i think they invented the whole target man thing just for him Smith is pretty decent, but we can get better + i don't think Manchester will let him go easy.. Stefen Iversen is the last option if we want a target man,he really improved since his Tottenham days and he's only 30, and turned to a classic target man/goal scorer type of player Koller is 34 man! Smith too much of a risk, needs to get a full year under his belt after that injury. Iversen Haven't seen too much of him recently but he would have had to improve a hell of a lot. Basically, we should be aiming higher.........much higher.

Not having a dig or anything but how much of there football do you watch? Only when they are on Sky and MOTD highlights but they aren't a team that are entertaining Bolton have only scored 45 goals this season. That's less than Everton, Reading, Tottenham, Blackburn and the same amount as Portsmouth. That's the joint least amount of goals in the the top 10 and they have only scored 4 more than Villa. More than us then? Scored 8 more goals than us. That's less impressive when you consider they are 7 places above us. I think the key words there are "above us". On a limited budget, smaller club. Given a chance here........ who knows?
