    Bramble's Latics debut

Yeah, that was the actual quote from the bbc website iirc.
  2. Midds SO alert. Have a jaffa cake son. Son? Be quiet or I'll change your name to 'Lost is shit'. Listen mate, just try it you power hungry FUCKER. I remember the days before my admin powers were randomly disabled and this was all fields. No lip from us "moderators" back then. We respected our lower mortals and treated them as if they were almost even. Which they weren't. But we still let them think they were, unlike YOU LOT.

  4. Now it looks like I'm talking to myself on the previous page. Thanks for that.
  5. Haha, where the fuck has my delete button gone? All my moderator powers have been WIPED OUT. I am... I am human again
  6. Ugh, don't quote it ffs.
  7. *Shouts at Dave for being too slow to delete this link*
  8. Yeah, Keane is absolutely bang-on here. I can understand players acting in the interest of their kids (i.e. Nobby); but turning down a bigger club for a smaller club because of things like shopping and lifestyle says an awful lot about their value as a team player.
  9. Magorific... You have the mate who works at the chronicle or something, right? Or is that someone else? If it is you then I'm inclined to believe this.
  10. I am praying he comes in and does well so when people turn round to me and say "yeah but you wanted us to sign Faye" it doesn't sound that bad Haha, yeah, but you had a Shola Ameobi avatar for about three years or something, and people aren't going to forget that... so either way you still come out looking pretty rubbish, really, Jon. It doesn't matter if people forget about your "sign faye!" pleas. I think its best that we all just accept that you're rubbish and move on.
  11. Good wing-back, very average full-back. I'd have him for the simple fact that he's better than Carr and there doesn't seem to be much else on the market. In no way, shape or form is he anything more than a short-term answer though.
  12. I like that phrase. Sounds like something a character in a Dickens novel would say.
  13. Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't w*** again, personally. me too. Its about double what he's worth, and what we dod was f****** stupid. I was happy with £5m but hopefully Curbishley's stupid enough to give us £7m for Solano and Dyer which will get the deal done. i'd take £5m for the pair of them. Not so sure about that like... I mean, yeah, given the circumstances £5m would seem reasonable... But, you know... we'd look a little bit silly ditching both of them for a lower fee than West Ham bid for one of them.

    Want Diouf?

Good footballer, but obviously a total cunt. However, I think his level of "cuntage" drops when he's wearing your shirt... So yeah, I'd probably have him. As backup. Maybe.
  15. Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't wank again, personally.
  16. Perhaps he doesn't want him and the kids to go through all that shit? Exactly, massive pile of horseshit half the comments I have read in this thread. I bet half those slagging Nobby don't even have kids themselves but they still feel they are qualified to give judgement about how often Nobby should see his kids. Fuck off! Have to agree with Jon here. I'd like to gamble that each and every one of us in this thread, without a single exception, would put our family - and especially our CHILDREN - ahead of our job. That's all Nobby's doing, and I really don't see the issue. Some of the comments in here are pathetic and nothing short of fickle, basically -- especially when you consider that they're aimed towards a player who has given absolutely everything he possibly could in his two stints with us.
  17. That's true enough. How it'll basically work is, when a moderator sees a post that he feels is in violation of the rule, he is fully entitled to deal with it himself, but I think I speak for most of us when I say that we'll probably end up sticking most things in the admin forum to get the majority opinion before we act. It's very rare that the decision will be made based on the interpretation of one person. That's pretty much how work for most of the other rules too, apart from in cases of BLATANT rule breaking.
  18. Can we use this thread for discussing the rule change and NOT for pointless, inane, and absolutely mundane argumentative drivel please? You know, before I just start randomly deleting people who I can't be fucked with? Getting just a little bit bored of threads being continuously taken off-course of late.

    Tell Sam who to sign!!

Henry Gale. Benjamin Linus OMG get it right dave, are you stupid or something?
  20. You can always rely on Andy to treat the users of this forum with utter contempt. That's because you draw contempt out of me like a big fucking magnet of contemptment (Is that a word? It is now), Gemmill.
  21. ... And to add to that, THIS thread is still open because there is a fair bit of discussion/controversy over it, and there a valid points and questions being raised.
  22. that thought occurred to me too. ........ and how does this thread not contravene the following : http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=40760.0 so blatant, and childish, it is easy to ignore, and as conflict driven as anything you will find. Not that I'm advocating a ban, because I'm not, just pointing out how impossible to mod that this will be IMO Again, that's why it's moderated with discretion. If we feel a post or thread contravenes our personal definition of this rule, we'll act upon it.
  23. Sorry, I removed the other thread to keep it off the football forum (considering it was a non-football topic). I didn't realise I needed to explain myself on that one, since I wasn't aware that there was any kind of debate over the rule change (apart from a few comments from Gemmill, which are to be expected anyway) - most people seemed to be fine with it from what I could see, so there was no reason to keep the thread going. If you have any concerns regarding the rule, either start a thread in General Chat or PM me. Simple.
  24. For those who still may not be sure, this change only affects those who've received an e-mail from us within the last hour or so.
