It's easy to praise flair players like Beardsley, Ginola etc, or goal scorers like Shearer, but Coloccini might genuinely be the best footballer I've seen at the club in terms of ability, professionalism and consistency. He's simply outstanding.

No it isn't, unless you want bottom half that is. We have been f*cking crap all season, Pardew needs to sort it out ffs We played an hour there with ten men man. Get a grip. I'm talking about the whole situation, 10 points from 8 games simply is not good enough. No you weren't, you were responding to "decent result", which given the circumstances it is.

I know it's a bit off topic - but why is a player, who has just completed 90 minutes of football, out the night of the game? Maybe I am being unrealistic about this, but surely recovering properly is pretty important? I do realise he may have been tucked up in bed by 9.00pm and not touched any alcohol, but still.. it annoys me. I don't know. They were drinking like although they weren't drunk. Like durhamunigeordie says, they've got a fortnight off so why not?

Was speaking to him and Rob Elliott for a bit in Revolution last night, such a nice bloke really. Was pretty apologetic about his/the team's performance. Clearly slightly out his depth at the very highest level and I think he's aware of it tbh.
-
From what I've seen of him so far he has plenty of ability but appears to lack the desire and winning mentality that players like Ben Arfa have. Really needs to force himself into the game more.
-
Err as much as it's James and we all like to say he's wrong, there's definitely precedent to back up what he's saying. It's a bit worrying I think, especially since it's not like Colo at all as others have pointed out.
-
Cringeworthy as fuck that like. The youtube comment that compares him to David Brent is spot on.

Think I'd actually prefer Sunderland to win of the two. Not only are liverpool more likely (unfortunately) to be in and around us at the end of the season, but I actually think I dislike them more the mackems nowadays. Sunderland are good for a laugh and I appreciate the rivalry and the derbies, whereas I'd be genuinely delighted if Liverpool ceased to exist.

Our crossing in general is shit, not just on set pieces. Every ball into the box is floated towards a man with no pace on it instead of being whipped into a dangerous area. Embarassing at times, especially when you look at the ability of some of the players doing it.

The 4-3-3 argument has been done to death but I'm really not sure how anyone can dispute its necessity. It's easy saying "it's not that simple blah blah blah" but once again we looked a lot better once we made the switch. We're setting up to not lose games then switching to 4-3-3 as a response if and when it goes tits up. That mentality's not acceptable to me with the players we have, especially at home.
-
Hope it's a Sunderland player just to cause chaos.
-
He's ridiculous at times like. If he can refine his game even more and become a more consistent goal threat he'll be one of the most effective players in the league.
-
It's not so much 4-3-3 that we need, we just need to work Ben Arfa into the free role more consistently.
-
Quite happy for him to remain relatively overlooked.
-
Not sure about that, but it might suit us from a footballing perspective.
-
From the way it was described it was a tad bit more vitriolic than someone saying "yeah, you were a bit shit there mate".
-
Aye, that's ridiculous regarding Obertan like. If any of the culprits are on here, I'll happily disregard our abuse rule for a moment to say you're fucking twats and a complete embarrassment to our fans. What kind of impression of our club must that kind of thing give the likes of Anita/Amalfitano/Bigirimana etc?
-
Their defending has looked shaky as fuck in both games so far; in particular they've had a habit of getting caught 3 vs 2 at the back which could be very interesting with our forwards running at them.
-
To be fair, he wasn't playing anywhere near this poorly back then. He wasn't exactly playing well mind.
-
Without wanting to jump on the anti-Obertan bandwagon, it's amazing that he kept Ben Arfa out of the team for so long like
-
I was happy to see Ben Arfa taking it ahead of Demba like. Never thought for a single second that he was going to miss.
