There should be plenty of available talent, it’s just getting the team in to identify the best options. I said from takeover day we need four starters in January, and I’d largely go along with 2 x DC, MC & SC too (although the three I picked are my dream choices, plus A.N.Otherer). Four starters for £50m is ambitious, but those three for £50m might be achievable. Then one more £20-30m starter (or possibly loan).

I think in 2-3 years sponsorship can be offered to external companies at tender. In effect, PIF saying to the corporate world “We’re prepared to offer (maximum market value) to sponsor our team, who wants to bid more and be on the Toon top?” Then you get legal, above market value and seperate sponsorship?

Quite like this team and formation - wonder if he’s brave enough to do it (as it’s easily sussed). Just being confident that there will be eleven players in position will be a huge plus.

Someone posted what looked a quite decent team that seemed to fit Fonseca’s Roma formation. Went something like: Dubravka - Schar, Fernandez, Lascelles - Lewis, Hayden, Willock, Manquillo - ASM, Wilson, Almiron. (Maybe 1 or 2 wrong). If he can get that team on the park regularly, we’ll surely pick up a few wins before January and then he can get some quality in to fit his formation. I’m hoping for four starters, and maybe that’s ambitious, but I’d like to aim for the top half this season if possible. I’m also walking around with a semi, thinking “imagine we won the FA Cup this year”.
