  1. Infuriating that, when asked to justify his answer, replied "He's never managed in the Premier League." No shit, sherlock. Neither had Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola, fucking Mourinho, fucking Ferguson. None of them should have been signed either
  2. Nah, can’t have that. Williamson and Taylor were no better than Krafth or Clark (especially).

    Paul Dummett

Just so long as he’s never, ever played at left wingback.

    Sunderland

Maybe they thought Al-Qaeda United wasn't cool enough? (I know, it's because they're ignorant and Islam = ISIS = AQ...)
  5. Fully confident Eddie will secure a much-needed win. But I must confess to being completely unaware how he'll conjure it...
  6. Yep - the old manager's cliche of "one game at a time" is true. We're 6 points from safety, sure, our next game is against Norwich and 3 points is very important, but by no means is it a "must win". But if we do win - and Eddie will hopefully have them running through walls for this one - then the jinx is broken, some confidence is restored and we rid ourselves of the "bottom of the league" title. Full of beans to face Burnley. Win there, we (likely) leapfrog them too, and safety is within touching distance. Two wins on the bounce, and suddenly a creaky Leicester away is a match we could get a result from. There's a clear pathway to safety - potentially even before the transfer window opens

    Gary Speed

I thought this forum frowned on sharing Althletic stories...?

Shearer's piece in The Athletic is equally heartbreaking https://theathletic.com/2966447/2021/11/26/alan-shearer-my-friend-speedo-10-years-on-through-the-eyes-of-those-who-knew-him/
  9. Australia have to beat Saudi Arabia (in KSA) and Japan to qualify - not going to happen. KSA are as good as qualified already.
  10. I’m surprised no outlets suggested His Royal Ferginess take over as interim - seems pretty clear he still holds enormous influence there. Oh, wait, the legacy can’t be tarnished.
  11. We've got plenty of strength at LB anyway
  12. Come on Marge, we don't want to "should" the man to death...
  13. Didn’t realise the first match after the window opened was Southampton. JWP to debut against his old club, please…
  14. I was filthy about that - much prefer long sleeve kits.
  15. Maybe he really was illiterate, like he told the court…?
  16. I reckon he’d successfully bring them into the bottom half and I’d love to see it, but fairy nuff
  17. See, I’m praying hard that the impossible happens and Steve Bruce is given the rest of the season. Imagine the chaos he could create with that squad! He’s everything that was wrong with Solksjaer, except older and fatter. “Well, ye know Cristiano, ah think ye need to be running harder, ye know.” I made my FB post today Sol’s quote with the caption “Pleasehappen pleasehappen pleasehappen”
  18. Ritchie is a massive liability, but Manquillo has been fucking pony every time he's played on the left. The only reason I can think of to play Murphy ahead of Manquillo is that Murphy can sort of sometimes hit a decent set piece, and has a marginally better cross. I don't agree (at all, actually - I think Manquillo would solve a lot of problems if he replaced Murphy) but I'm not the one making the big bucks...
  19. You're right - just after I posted, I remembered watching a Tifo vid in the last week
  20. He fancies it as much as I fancy Scarlett Johansson - and as likely to happen.
  21. I haven't heard a commentator suggest Ronaldo is a big part of why Man U have fallen off a cliff this season - and yet it seems an obvious question. Their whole project suddenly changed shape on the eve of the season, and any attacking philosophy was chucked to accommodate the Returned One and his complete unwillingness to press properly.
