he has like. he looks totally disinterested for a start. Honestly doesn't look like he gives two fucks. I know he's always looked a huffy cunt but his 'demeanour' is really reflected in his game at the minute. His career is in serious danger of going down the pan here. I'd say he's at quite a serious crossroads.

He could play out wide but he's been more of a withdrawn forward when I've seen him. He'd be great off Mitro imho. Not sure where that would leave Gayle though tbh. Edit - I should clarify that, when I say 'withdrawn forward' I don't mean that there's a number 9 in front of him, more that he drops deep in possession and they push people up at either side of him. So, essentially, he's been up top as their main man but not in a traditional Mitro/Carroll sense. Fuck knows, I know what I mean .

I really like what I've seen of him - his movement/liveliness would be a welcome addition to our forward line.

Agree. Get some points on the board. Ritchie to score. . Forum bet on Ritchie 1-0................Awaits 0-4 and a Big Jaap stam knee slide.

Should've signed Pogba, and probably one of them german full-backs from the euros. Can't believe we weren't in for Higuain either - no ambition Yeah, that's exactly what I had in mind .
-
Going for a scrappy 1-0 and, I hope, the turning point being reached.
-
He's been an unmitigated disaster of a signing tbh.

I'd like to see us buy a genuine top quality player as a statement. Preferably a creative/flair player as we're severely lacking in someone who sees the game differently. Would love us to sign a left back capable of doing something in the final third too. Whilst I've not been blown away by the initial showings of Gayle, I'm not massively concerned with the forwards and think that if we can sort the midfield out, we should have no problems in scoring goals. Midfield just isn't functioning at all at the moment. Hardly a surprise when there are so many average players to pick from, especially in the middle.

Good job nobody is saying that. They did after Fulham and plenty of people went along with it when it was very clearly cliched Shite tbqh. That was the first game. This isn't, and it isn't acceptable. You're arguing against no one. Be nice if the people who bought it actually admitted it was a load of old gash that, if trotted out by SMc and Colo they'd have been slated. A total nonsense and that's been proven this week. Awful excuse tbh.

Just a 'wake up call' tbh. Same if we get turned over again next game and the one after that. No big issues here, just wake up calls. Fucking load of shite.
-
He's a good little player. A bit Bellamy-esque IMHO.
-
Brendan. Good solid name that.
-
Are the Mirror still a media partner btw?
-
Leggy attacking midfielder. He's looked very good when I watched them last season.
-
Why did he get binned in the first place?
-
This stood out to me too. I'll bet he's fucking livid this weekend btw. He'll be watching that back all weekend, by Monday, he'll be heading to the training ground with a machete ready to chop Jacks Ginger Bollocks off.

Don't disagree with this but I still don't think I'd have played him over Mbemba.
-
They're the clear favourites to go up and virtually every person who comments on us are saying that we're miles better than the other teams in the league, I think the players have believed the hype and will now know they have to work harder. Then you'd question the prep because Rafa has been saying all summer how competitive the league is.

Yep. -
I suppose they're waking up to the mistakes you have pointed out? It was no different at Southampton away at the end of last season but I didn't see anyone calling that a 'wake up call'.
-
I think last night being described as a wake up call is a fair comment, some of out players looked as if they just had to turn up and they would go home with the points. But why though? Over half of them have played at that level before. It's surely not a shock that it's vaguely competitive?
-
If Mbemba is fully fit, I can't see why this guy started over him.

Looked a class above the rest of the dross he was surrounded by tbqh.
