  1. I wouldn't care the winner really took my eye in the parade ring but I'd already backed huckle's fucking tip. Bah!
  2. Better training facilities, better fans and Marty's Parties. It's a no brainer for him unfortunately.
  3. Deffo go to the same dentist. Fucking hell.
  4. He'd go. Probably bollocks of course. If he went there I wouldn't even feel a teeny bit of guilt for wishing his knees fell off.
  5. Agree with that. They can be criticised for many things but their transfer policy and subsequent dealings over the last few years have been second to none. Praise where it's due and all that.........................
  6. Is there anyone, more well known, that you can compare him too Unbelievable?

  10. Yep - forgot about Xisco too. Hopefully, when he does go, that'll be another two players we can bring in to enhance the squad. For all we had plenty of quality about the first team last year our squad depth was really lacking in quality. This is where we should be looking to improve once we've brought in the main targets. Also, makes sense of the alleged interest in development players, in the hope one or two of them can become squad players over the next 12-24 months. I'd be really keen on Ashley to throw a few million at kids with potential (like Curtis Good). You've only really got to get one through and you've paid for it two or three times over. I'm sure this will be right up on the agenda for them though.

Cuellar is such a typical signing for the Mackems for where they are now. Ageing, will demand top dollar and never really been a top player. He's such a MoN signing it's untrue. I'm delighted they're picking up players like this. If MoN spits the dummy out (which is inevitable at some stage) he's going to leave them saddled with an overrated, overpaid bunch of players with no resale value between them. His reign will take some getting over. He's going to leave them worse than Bruce did at this rate.
  12. It's guesswork, of course, but the point stands that we can vastly improve the quality and depth of the squad without having to expand the wage bill. This is a huge plus when you consider the likes of Cuellar will demand a big signing on fee and in excess of £40k a week for the Mackems who already have a shite wage:turnover ratio.
  13. What would you think he was on?
  14. That's a fair old amount of weekly salary walking out the door/being sold. Roughly:- Smith - £60k Lovenkrands - £20k Guthrie - £10k Best - £15k Forster - £2.5k Ranger - £2.5k £110k per week (give or take). If we bring in Debuchy (£30k), Anita (£10k), De Jong (£35k) and Douglas (£30k) OR equivalents of the same status/experience we'll still have a saving whilst hugely improving the quality and depth of the squad.

The Express and The Daily Mail seem to be the most 'reliable' when it comes to NUFC Transfer Rumours/News due to undoubted links to the clubs upper echelons. Even then, there's still no way they get as much from us as they do from other clubs imho.

Looks a bit like Distin in style (long gait, athletic, big tall fella) come to think of it.

. Oh yeah - I forgot about that. The most important signing this clubs made in about 10 years. FFS, read my post. 4 years isn't really the "next few seasons". It might as well be when we prefer to sell with a year left if they won't renew. See Simpson etc this year.

If he's as good as many people (including Boro Shteve) would have us believe, I'm surprised Man Utd aren't in for him with the impending decline of Vidic and the already declining Ferdinand. I know they've got Jones and Smalling but I'd have thought they'd be all over someone like Douglas if he's only £5-£6m.

That '3 red cards video' . He doesn't even strike one of them. They all just bounce off him. Diving for cover as he strops off.
  20. I've got a feeling we're not in for him at all. Just a hunch. Wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Rosales and Douglas.

Long Term replacement. Yes. I should probably expand on this by saying...............if the club think that Douglas is the nuts then we must spend the money now. I don't see Colo being around much after the next few seasons (he'll finish his playing days in South America imho) and this kid is only 24. Whilst he may not be a like for like replacement for Colo, if he is absolute quality, then the task of replacing Colo in a few years is less onerous because we'll be slotting a new guy in alongside a quality CH in Douglas who will be coming into his prime (he'll be about 27/28 by then). This would be my logic anyhow. Long term replacement in terms of quality, if not exact position.

Arguably a more important signing than De Jong. We're desperate for Centre Half cover and a long term Colo replacement. De Jong, whilst nice to have, is nowhere near as important at this stage due to the ability of HBA/Marv etc to play in more advanced roles.
