  1. 8million. Right now, you are probably correct - Blackpool are not technically safe yet and the loss of Adam would make it far more likely that they will be dragged into the relegation scrap so it will take a big fee to make them part....on the other hand, I reckon 5-6 million will get him if they were to wait until summer ; Adam himself is reputed to want away now, so I reckon Liverpool will get him if he goes anywhere. There's no question the lad will have had his head turned after the bids. His departure could send Blackpool into freefall.
  2. I know they have had injury problems up front - might be worth checking that out before backing.
  3. End of the month is the time to judge this departure.

    Sunderland...

I doubt he'll be in their first eleven by the time we next play them.

£3m bid accepted - BBC Sport Understands.......................
  6. I agree with this. I reckon he'd flourish with a group of players who's put a collective arm around him, in a good stadium where he'd have a huge amount of freedom due to Tiote sitting in behind letting him roam forward. I'd be up for a loan with fee agreed, even if he is a risk.
  7. Gabby Bent Young Makoun Petrov Downing ?? Friedel Walker - Cuellar - Collins - Clark Makoun - SomeoneElse Downing - Young - Albrighton Bent Is what I reckon he's thinking of. I can't see him dropping Albrighton, so have no idea where that leaves Gabby. EDIT - that SomeoneElse will almost certainly be Fabian Delph, come to think of it. Think you're spot on Brummie - I was reflecting on this signing earlier saying it's quite an unusual 'Houllier' buy in that he's normally a big guy, little guy fella for his forward lines. This makes it an interesting signing because he's essentially throwing away his preferences to build a side around Bent, who everyone knows doesn't work well with a partner. Be interesting to see if your prediction is correct and he goes for 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 if you like. If so, that looks like a good team to watch on the good days but ripe for a few drubbings on the bad.
  8. You're making the incorrect assumption that we're not owned and run by fucking idiots. Wish I was a "fucking idiot" with a multi-million pound bank balance and sole ownership of Newcastle United 1 outta 3 ain't bad.

    John Carver

Can I be the first to say 'meh'.
  10. Now that we're virtually assured of safety I'd like to think we're looking to players to move us on a step next season and Routledge (for all the good he did last year) isn't going to do that. There's a top player in there somewhere but he's never produced it at the top level so I'm not entirely against this move PROVIDED we bring a body in.
  11. Agree with that. He made up for his Stevenage performance yesterday, even though there were a couple of dodgy moments.
  12. Are you sure you're not thinking of the £18m/£19m 'Dyer to Man Utd' bid? I don't remember the Jenas talk.
  13. An absolute collosus today. MOTM by a country mile and the best thing to grace that filthy turf in a long time.
  14. Just spoken to my only mackem mate and he said "I couldn't see anything other than Newcastle getting a second, the draw was stolen and you must feel gutted - almost like a loss, you dominated so much'". Apparently they're not all braindead.
  15. Massive ask for Gosling to be thrown into a derby after so long out though. Can't help thinking Guthrie is another victim of the haters on here. Was injured himself for much of the season. Yes, he's struggled since he's been back, but people on here easily forget what he did for us last year and instead suggest he's "heartless". Pathetic, frankly. He shouldn't play for us again after feigning injury when he fucked up. Would you want to rely on the guy in the heat of a battle?
  16. His movement has been gash. He's not peeling off into the channels and has been caught offside too many times.
  17. Ranger is more mistake-inducing - especially against Ferdinand and Bramble. Agree - I think his pace in behind, given all we're doing is launching long balls into the right hand side channel, would be more effective.
  18. CLOSE THREAD I don't see why the thread should be closed when plenty people, judging by the poll, have a different view.
  19. Fucking Guthrie. If Gosling isn't fit enough to manage 45 minutes in this then he shouldn't be on the bench. If he's fit then he should be ahead of this heartless cunt. He's dropped his arse three times already.
