Shocker. I know it's early but don't know what we ever saw in Lascelles?
-
Lascelles and Tiote looked poor.
-
Seems a similar situation to the Thauvin one, hopefully it ends the same.

Man Utd 3-0 Nufc Palace 1-0 Villa Leicester 1-2 Spurs Norwich 0-1 Stoke Sunderland 1-1 Swansea West Ham 2-1 Bournemouth WBA 1-3 Chelsea Everton 1-1 Man City Watford 1-1 Southampton Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool Palace- Villa as my pick.

Cuadrado is allowed to leave on loan. Been linked in any possible deal for John Stones.
-
Surely under pressure at the club now, most of his bigger money signings have failed miserably and so there is massive pressure on this summers signings, particularly Thauvin. Plus he was supposedly really influential in the McClaren appointment.

Be insane if they didn't get one though, right? I mean, they must see this. With the current defensive set up, no matter what other positions are filled, how well we're playing, we will continue to ship goals and lose games because of our god awful defending. Also worry about it damaging the confidence of the other signings. They play well, score, go ahead, and... FFS!!! again with the f***ing defending, what's the point. It's all well and good wanting a defender, but are the defenders we want available? If we've learnt anything from the last few years it's that we don't look at targets who aren't on our main wanted list. Have thought since the window opened that our main CB target is Abenddour from Monaco. Not sure if that's possible at all though? Could be possible if we are his best choice, how long should we wait though ? We don't seem to clever at having a back up ready to sign when that fails. I would think we already have a pretty good idea if he wants to come or not, and the rumours that we are back in for him suggest there's a chance. In terms of waiting I expect it's a case of him or no one else. That's how we usually work, where we don't stray from our list of targets.

Marseille fans seem delighted he is leaving which is always a bad sign.
-
Jonny Evans seemingly available, anyone take him here?
-
Not a massive fan of Thauvin tbh, similar to most rather just spend all our money on the defence.

Next game or two will tell is a lot and not necessarily the result. But if he persists with Obertan, Colback and Cisse whilst the likes of Perez, Aaron's and Mitrovic are on the bench then he is making a rod for his own back. Plus out main issue at CB has been ignored again due to his decision to keep Colo.
-
I completely get what your saying, but let's not forget these a professional footballers, playing at the top level they should be able to do the basics and not need coaching in how to pass and move and keep the ball at speed.
-
Giving Colo a new contract when it's clear we could have got rid is on him. That decision alone is going to cost us this season. Not starting Perez when the likes of Obertan are playing is also criminal. If we started poorly under a manager with proven quality or exciting potential, e.g Bielsa or Tuchel then we could all be a lot more positive. But we know McClaren and his record and he simply isn't that good to suggest things are going to be much better.
-
Agreed although the fixture list means the fans will be on his back by around October.
-
I think a lot of opinions, mine anyway are based on him and his overall record as a manager. That may be wrong but we already know he's not a great manager nor a great appointment and basically saying give him time is settling for mediocrity again. I think what I'm trying to say is although we can't judge him after two games, we can judge him on his overall career and that isn't suddenly going to change here. For me it's just an overall realisation that things aren't going to be much better in the long term, although obviously better than Pardew.
-
Remember when some of us were dreaming of Tuchel.
-
His record at pretty much every club and of course England suggest this. Obviously he will be given games but our fixtures are brutal and we will be in the bottom 3 by end of September and the pressure will be immense.
-
It's been obvious to every single fan all summer.
-
Don't worry we have Dummett....
-
not enough in the world for this You watching like, it's shambolic as has his subs. We're down to 10 away to a good side We were awful with 11, then to have no striker on? Shame we don't have an owner who will respond with the signings we need after this.

This is as bad as anything under Pardew.
