  1. Ritchie definitely needs to be benched rest of this season but will be helpful to have him around the club during the transition period as he is already familiar with the "Howe way"
  2. Rafa has direct contacts to Brown, McParland and Mandy. He won't need to use the Media to get his message across if he is really looking to leave
  3. If the new training complex and nenovations and/or relocation of SJP costs another few hundred million quid, Amanda may have difficulty keeping up as she is a mere millionaire compared to Reubens' billions
  4. Good read on Emenalo https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/19/michael-emenalo-the-narrative-that-white-is-good-has-to-change
  5. Might as well throw Manuel Pellegrini's name in. He has done it before with Man City and is a fairly big name in World football. At 68, he is probably not looking long term anyway. Only bummer is he is currently with Real Betis
  6. The project is all about staying in the Premier League first and foremost. What's so different about that? Building for next phase is secondary
  7. Amidst all these twists and turns, its Unai's 50th Birthday today. Hope Charnley remembers to send some flowers and a cake as part of the charm offensive
  8. If indeed it was a leak from Consortium, then isn't Caulkin a guilty party too for being a pawn in this game albeit a willing pawn
  9. The "leak" could have been from anyone. Why blame the Consortium without facts?
  10. "Why Emery is top candidate to become Newcastle manager" - Caulkin just posted this on The Athletic one hour ago https://theathletic.com/2930384/2021/11/03/why-emery-is-top-candidate-to-become-newcastle-manager/
  11. Interesting interview where Emery talks about why Arsenal's Board selected him and some of the issues he faced along the way. His time in the Premier League will be very helpful as well as his experience at PSG at managing big named players that we will inevitably sign
  12. Even if we appoint a currently non UK based new manager on Mon, How soon can he start work? So Jones may be around for another week or two. Unless we go for a British Manager
  13. Mancs keen on Fonseca, Farve & Gerrard too?
  14. Could this be the leftest of left field appointment? Preparing to accept a short term deal till Rafa or someone else is available? Gattuso link Gennaro Gattuso would be willing to accept a short-term deal at Newcastle United, according to Italian journalist Fabio Santini. Speaking on 7 Gold’s program, Il Processo, via Area Napoli, he said: "Attention: there is a sensational twist for what concerns Mr. Gennaro Gattuso. "The coach could reach the Premier League at Newcastle. "The Calabrian coach would also accept a fixed-term contract until the end of the current football season. 15. If one Joe Willock can change our fortunes last season despite Bruce; think of what a proper manager plus many more permanent/loan quality signings can do in 2nd half of season. And we are not talking about throw of the dice type potential signings but of real quality. Many other teams will go through lean spells plus injuries etc and not all have the funds to turn things around. Verdict : ZERO chance of relegation under Consortium
  16. Surprising for Rafa to overlook this point. He was even quoted recently as saying what a big difference to have a Chairman prepared to spend
  17. How long will Everton's FFP restrictions be in place if they can't raise commercial revenues significantly? Looks like Rafa is back to being under Ashley scenario all over again. Whilst Everton's Chairman wants to spend, they can't
  18. Prince William is tall. Didn't realize he was 6ft 3 in. Good height for a Centre Back or Centre Forward
  19. I can't tell from video if Fonseca was speaking Ukrainian but he at least speaks Portuguese, English, Italian already so that is quite a lot already !
  20. How many languages does Fonseca speak ! ?
  21. Just sell Joelinton for 100M quid to Saudi Clubs. He gets a comfy life and set for life. Shelvey will do well there with his camel pace. Repeat every season or whenever funds are required. This is like money laundering in art work. Value is in eyes of beholder.
  22. Fonseca doesn't seem to stay long in job. Average of 2 years per club 2005–2007 - Estrela Amadora (youth) 2007–20081 - Dezembro 2008–2009 - Odivelas 2009–2011 - Pinhalnovense 2011–2012 - Aves 2012–2013 - Paços Ferreira 2013–2014 - Porto 2014–2015 - Paços Ferreira 2015–2016 - Braga 2016–2019 - Shakhtar Donetsk 2019–2021 - Roma
  23. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-new-era-staff-21881792 The former Hull City fitness coach has left his role with Steve Bruce's backroom team Newcastle United fitness coach Cristian Fernandez has parted company with the Magpies after half a decade of service. The rehab expert joined the club during the Rafa Benitez era on Tyneside but remained on board under Steve Bruce. The former Hull City and Northampton Town backroom member says he is leaving on good terms but becomes the first staff change of the club's new era. Speaking on his personal Twitter feed Fernandez said: "After more than five years it is time to say goodbye. "I want to thank Newcastle United for giving me the opportunity to live great experiences enjoying this amazing Toon, where we have felt at home. "But above all for being able to meet so many good people who helped me grow personally and professionally."
