  1. Absolutely, I'm coming around to the thinking that he's more likely not to now than anything else.
  2. Because he doesn't have any real thoughts about selling us. And it's been stated a number of times that Rafa being manager adds to the value of his asset. If he wants to sell, giving him a multi year contract extension makes perfect sense, if he doesn't then he's already seen this season, that he can save millions in investment with the right manager in place. From either stand point, it should be a no brainer for Ashley.
  3. It's lunacy really, if a deal was going to be struck the time to make it as a buyer was after the Arsenal game when our PL status was secured, there's been literally zero movement, and with the transfer window opening in the next few weeks, there is very little time for a new owner to finalise the deal before another transfer window closes. Ashley is here for the foreseeable, we just have to accept it, maybe Ashleyout.com can start putting the pressure on again but he's not a Pardew type coward who will shy away from conflict. The future is still very bleak for us unless somehow Rafa stays and is backed with a reasonable kitty.
  4. Same here, I've never understood the hatred of him. I'll concur, at times Taylor looked like he could make that step up to the England squad, just never came off for him. Like a lot of players his last few seasons with us were one too many, no hate at all for him though personally. Hope he finds a decent move in the summer and doesn't soil himself with that lot down the road.
  5. I'm not sure the player or Serbia would be too upset if that happened (which I doubt it can btw), as I bet both would rather not be playing more games with the risk of injury this close to the World Cup, he's not going to get much of a break, having said that, he hadlike 6 months off at the start of the season, when Rafa picked Joselu ahead of him
  6. Wouldn't touch him, absolute cancer to the team spirit. Doesn't work nearly hard enough on getting back for Rafa either.
  7. They know they will need to strike up a deal before the world cup, because they will be priced out of the market. They won't have 20 million plus to spend, if they don't go up, they will have to sweeten the pot, they'll probably offer Cairney but I hope we don't bite on that, and insist on Sessgnon. They could wait to sell him themselves to finance the move but that would mean they will probably be in a bidding war with a bunch of other clubs. It makes a lot of sense for them and us tbh. Sessegnon knows he can do "better", though. Players still have a say you know. If he's got any sense, he'll know that working with someone like Rafa will help him more than sitting on Man City/Chelsea or Manure's bench.

  9. If they don't get promoted they won't be able to afford him. That could open the door for a part exchange. Although Sessegnon is a huge talent for them, way more important that you have a 20 plus goal scoring centre forward than a young left back. We should listen to them if we can get him at a decent price by throwing in Mitro, 10 million plus Mitro would be a good deal for both parties I feel.
  10. I think for Perez to have a future with us, Striker is the only position for him. He's done really well in the 10 role, but it is so pivotal to the way Rafa plays we badly need an upgrade next season. Perez is a great finisher and he needs to focus on that. Like I said in the match thread, if someone comes in with 15 million for him, I would be snatching their hands off, anything less than that and I'm hanging on to him as a back up/rotational striker. We are going to have to really sort out the forwards situation in the summer, Gayle's clearly not the answer, Rafa hates Mitro, Joselu is barely a footballer, Toney is out of the door by all accounts and Armstrong may probably never reach his potential. We need at least two strikers in the summer.
  11. He has done a fantastic job but a long way behind Dysche and Pep. Hughton may beat him out for third.
  12. Massively, he was never getting that cross. Left the goal wide open If he stays he's not going to stop it either, the guy has a free header from 3 yards out ! Not much he could do with the defenders not marking and not preventing the cross.
  13. How much realistically do you think we could get from him? Like I said 15 million is the tipping point, less than that, not worth selling any player that can score goals in the PL, you just simply won't get any kind of replacement. I doubt anyone comes up with that amount however, although his recent goal run will get attention. FFS that's terrible. Going to lose 5 on the bounce going into next season, that's not good.
  14. Yeah I would cash in on Perez like, went on a great run of form that saved us but too many times he picks the wrong option or poorly executes. Important that we get a true number 10, if some one is willing to hand over 15 million plus snap their hands off, if not keep him as a back up striker.
  15. Yeah we are not finishing top ten, Palace winning today means they'll probably overtake us as well as a few others. We've given up on the season, it's been pathetic tbh, after a great run.
  16. What is it about Watford, where we always seem to roll over for them ?
  17. Manquillo surely. It was Dummet that passed the ball to their striker. We are going to get dicked here, almost two.
  18. I don't think we are honestly in the market for players like Fellaini and Barkley. They may be achievable from a transfer fee perspective but we are not going to come close to meeting their wage demands. Think we'll continue to look abroad for bargains, or try to lure young domestic based players who have yet to prove themselves. Also, 70 million over three windows, as the ronny gill is reporting, is honestly not a lot in today's market.

    Sunderland

That's really all that needs to be said.
  20. Just hope we play with a bit more desire than we did in our last two, would be disappointed now if w don't finish top 10, this is our most winnable game left so important we get three points if we have any ambitions left this season.

    Transfer rumours

I'm not convince Cairney would offer great value for a player with zero PL pedigree. I would take a punt on Loftus Cheek, if Chelsea are willing to sell at a reasonable price, think he would fit our midfield very well.
  22. I'm personally not interested in loans next season (unless there is deal in place to buy them, already agreed), this season it was necessary because we clearly didn't have the finances. There is literally no excuse, even though it looks practically certain that Ashley will still be in charge for next season. They've gotten through a PL season, without spending anywhere near the amount they should have, coupled with a low wage bill by PL standards and off a huge profit on transfer dealings the previous year. I don't buy any stories of poverty because we spent one year out of the top flight. We can't get sucked into the loan game like the Mackems did, it will kill your club in the end, while just aiding the development assets of teams you compete against. No problem with the Merino, Dubravka and Atsu type deals, but don't want another Kenedy one for next year. If we did a loan for Barkley would need that buy option inserted.
