I got to see the whole game on rerun when I return for work, I had no idea of the score as I was locked in meeting and chasing my tail all afternoon when the game was on. Anyway, Alan Parry summed up the game perfectly just after half time when he said "For those just coming in from work who've just missed the first half....congratulations" It was a absolutely shocking game from two teams who are woefully out of form and belief. From our point of view I thought we had huge problems at the back, Spuds didn't really test out our backline enough, but Bassong, Taylor and Collocini were absolute disasters last night. In midfield we had nothing, Duff ineffective as he has been thought his career at NUFC, Zoggy not involved enough for me. Butt's seemingly regular giving the ball away trick cost us the all important first goal but actually outside that was probably the pick of the midfield. Cacapa, well he's not a midfielder is he. Geremi wasteful and unimpressive. Up front we struggled to get Owen and Martins in the game but Woody and King looked very strong for them. What we have done last night is given a huge lift to the only team below us in the table, the goal for the russian guy who I'll not even try to spell will be a big relief for him too. Our team needs some belief, organisation and motivation, at this moment in time we are screwed. Is Vegetables the man to relieve this dying club, I'm not so sure but it's better than no one.

I agree with a large portion of it but the bit about Ashley not sitting with the fans is really not needed, wouldn't be surprised if the fanzine guys insistsed on having that point in there, sounds a bit silly and childish to me. I guess those that put this together never join in with the chorus of "We hate ockneys, oh we hate cockneys, we are the cockney haters" when we played the likes of spuds and arsenal then

Ashley will do what's best for Ashley tbh, if some fools want to pay 150 mill over the worth of the club, he would be mad not to take the money.
-
Did he ? Why haven't you posted this in the Daldlish thread, would be interesting to hear what he had to say.

I'm a huge KK supporter and when Ashley and he met for that Friday meeting I was extremely excited because it was in the best interests of the club at the time for the man to return as our manager. Short term he's still the best man for the job but I honestly think the best thing for future stability is to now move on, with a fresh start under a new regime.

I can't believe there has been 292 other Johnsons's registered on this site

LOL, funniest analogy of the year. However I think we are desperate enough for a shag that we'll consider anything right now. Lets hope we don't wake up in the morning to find we've made a terrible mistake.

You see what happens, I make a comment about said "pointless comment" then bugger off out for lunch, and this is what happens. Thanks Robster for picking up the baton but can I not trust the rest of you guys with anything ?

Well I'm still bored to death of this "accountant's dream" thread.

I posted about this article in another thread, I said I thought the author wrote it from a pretty Ashley apologetic point of view, and Beardsley quotes although nothing too offensive smack of self interest in staying close to the ownership in the hope he can get a job.

To me, right now is the perfect time for him. He's in a no lose situation TBH, expectations are so low he probably can't fail to meet them. He's the one person other than KK whom Ashley could appoint that would feel secure should he manage to con someone into buying the club.
-
Under what obligation does he have to ? Answer: none whatsover.
-
It would be like KD is just stalking KK, third time he would have followed in his footsteps.
-
Absolutely, the situation atm is awful but the lack of any communication with the fans make it even worse.
-
That's a really good piece by Samuel, I have to admit. His last few articles have been spot on TBH.
-
As stupid as that sounds, I agree with it.
-
I was going to write a piece about how KD would not be a bad choice, but thought I would get shot down in flames by a few on here, so didn't bother.

I've had time to reflect a little on the weekend's results, one thing to take out of the West Ham game is the fact that they are a very average side themselves, there is nothing to be afraid of from them or many other clubs around us. A new manager and a bit of positivity around the club is all we need to ensure that we are playing PL football next season. The team is more than good enough to reach mid table mediocrity, of that despite the injuries, I'm sure. It's not an impossible situation however things have to start happening fast, we can't afford Hughton to be in charge for 3 or 4 more weeks. That's not a dig at the guy, but he's a coach that's all not a manager. The problem is if this state of limbo is allowed to go on for too long, the dynamic changes, those players who just needed direction have become comfortable in a rut, and take more motivation to get them out of it or just remain in their comfort zone and the only option is to sell them.

isit a hitler tash, i wasn't sure what it was under his nose, pictures aren't clear, thought it was a mole or just shadows.

Can't believe some on here are saying "we've just been unlucky", this is how things go when you are in turmoil, nothing seems to run for you. Truth is we've been outclassed by to be totally honest a very very average team.
-
So would you take 17th place now ? I'll tell you we are in a huge mess right now.
-
We simply can't go on without a manager, we'll not win until they sort it, think Hughton can hold things tight until the club is sold is sheer folly.
-
Can't say he's got much wrong. We are getting pummelled atm, lucky just to be 1 behind.
