Man Utd seek to raise $1bn on Asian markets... http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2011/08/16/654461/manchester-united-berhad/

Guess this is now the depressing reality for non-Champions League teams. If anyone of your players proves himself to be outstanding, one of the top four will take him off you. I'm afraid no team will be able to challenge these clubs unless you spend hundreds of millions. It's pretty much a closed-shop now, esp with the financial fair play rules coming in (which will basically entrench their advantage). It sucks balls that UEFA ruined the UEFA Cup of old. It was something worthwhile for clubs like our own to aspire to. Now we just have the embarrassing, second rate, shambolic Europa League. For those that aren't in it, the Champions League has spoilt football massively.

So what happened? Bad tackle? Landed awkwardly? Leg break? -
In Copperfield's in Tynemouth on Friday, two elderly couples popped open a bottle of champagne loudly toasted Sunderland finishing above Newcastle last season. Some bloke gently reminded them of that result (in good humour of course!), but the mackem pensioner pricks reacted with chants of "9-1, 9-1, 9-1".

I've been saying it for ages - the Champions League is spoiling football. I sorely miss the days of the respected UEFA Cup (even the Cup Winners Cup). The prospect of only ever realistically competing for the hugely devalued Europa League is grim.

Surely Ashley's strategy is clear to us all by now? It's all about maintaining an overall profit on transfers. Enrique is almost certain leave now he has genuine value, Barton's departure is likely, Tiote will certainly be cashed in on if he maintains his performances next season, and Arfa will provide a tidy profit after next season if he plays to his potential.

"Real radio" priced out of live commentary next season.

I'm staggered people actually like C*ckwood! -
So an exciting career wiped out before he had chance? Grim news if true. Wish I could break De Jong's f*cking leg the prick.
-
Cannot blame him tbh, but only if he ends up at one of the top six clubs who have a chance of Champions League footy. Everyone else is either fighting relegation or praying for a lucky cup win. And unlike the old UEFA Cup, the Europa League is just a crock of sh*t that probably doesn't even come into consideration for most top players. It's all about the Champions League now.

Disagree. The old horse was once in his prime. Whereas Ameobi has been like an arthritic cripple all his life
-
I thought that would be fake until I tried it myself
-
Get this prick out of our club please. I've never known a player who's so f*cking stupid. That photo is utterly shameful. W*nker.

R5 commentator losing his voice F*cking sickening that a POS club like Wigan may stay up whilst WHU go down.

Goodbye Wigan you piece of sh*t club

Building a team/squad around the core we already have

Other than avoiding relegation, what is there to play for the in the league? The Champion's League is practically a closed shop, and the Europa League is a dire, heavily devalued competition IMO. Christ, I wish could have the UEFA Cup of old back, with good teams, a knockout format and non of this Champs League dropout bullsh*t. Only then I could excited at the realistic prospect of competing for 5-8th. -
SSN say big FA announcement due tonight. You just know it's gonna be something sh*t like a TV deal or an investigation into FIFA.
-
F*ck me, I completely forgot about Cudicini. The bloke at one point was a hero at Chelsea. WTF happened to leave him second choice behind the comical Gomes?? Oh, and I see Bale was sh*t again. Seems he's only good against ageing, slow opposition.
-
Man U gonna get destroyed. Got visions of a knackered, ageing Scholes looking dejected after Messi cruised by to score the winner.
-
I know the Liverpool fans view him as a c*cksucker too, but I wonder what the Man U fans think?
