They said this Gardener upfront is a Geordie and is in the Scotland under 21s. Think he's looked decent. Should be scouting him.

Amorim getting serenaded with "sacked in the morning" by Grimsby fans

Grimsby are actually decent. Playing some good football
-
So you think the manager and staff are buying both players thinking they are unconvincing long term?
-
If we looked at the likes of Cunha, Joao Pedro and Ekitike he'd be along the same line of thinking. Hasn't played as much at striker in Italy, but I swear he played more of that position when he was at Lille. Would be shocked if there's anything to that report, but the reaction from all over would be very very entertaining

Chelsea enquired in January I think. Hopefully Mainoo to Chelsea and Andrey Santos to Newcastle.
-
Napoli were actively looking to move Osimhen since last year. Strand Larsen's fee was an obligation clause from last year. Without that his previous club is asking more money for him.
-
It will be such a ridiculous circus that the media will be milking and exploiting every second of every day. Hard to imagine the team having a good season with all that going on.
-
What makes you think we'll have money to spend regardless going forward? What happens if we buy the one striker and keep Isak, and the striker we bought gets injured and Isak is still acting up? If we don't sell him and we fail to qualify for the CL next season we are seriously fucked. We'd probably have clubs taking the piss with £80 million bids for him due to real desperation from our side at that point. Wanting £150 million and getting £130 million this window is not folding like a pack of cards. We're going to have to take some kind of hit on this because we screwed up with the contract thing and he's lost his head. Either we take less of a hit now or we likely take a far greater hit later.
-
Big clubs have shown interest in Gordon, Bruno, Tonali and Tino, and will have no doubt been trying to turn them behind the scenes. Fortunately it's typically more rare to have one lose their head completely in the manner Isak has. Also, the club does have to take some responsibility and be more careful about promising new contracts and then going back on that, which has ultimately been the source of this whole issue. Let's get the new DOF and CEO in, tighten that all up and move forward.
-
Isak is worth £150 million plus if he's settled and happy at the club, but unfortunately he's acted the cunt.
-
I'd much rather not keep him for 3 years and have him run out his contract like It sounds nice, but once that then means we don't have the money to further improve the team and we start struggling and missing out on qualifying for Europe, then reality will hit. If what has been said is true and the manager and players are done to him to that extent, get the £130 million and give the players that are showing up everyday and giving their all a better and stronger team to go out and compete, so their efforts aren't being wasted.
-
Exactly. Isak has fucked us over and now it's just a case of to what extent it ends up being. We'd be lucky to get £100 million for him if we move him after this window has passed.
-
What do you think telling Liverpool that is going to achieve. You really think they're going to agree to do that? You're hoping his only Liverpool stance is fiction, because if next summer comes and he pulls that card we're even more fucked. And you might not care what he wants, but it's not about you is it. I think it's probably more important what the manager and players want, and what is best for the club's progress.
-
We were giving Liverpool hell with Gordon up top. What kind of side are we if the money we get for him goes towards two new strikers the manager believes in and say another midfielder like we all want. Do you really think we're going to be worrying about Isak or Liverpool if we're a significantly better team and can go toe to toe with anyone?
-
And what happens if next summer no one else comes in for him or he then continues to insist he'll only join Liverpool, and we now have to sell him to Liverpool for much less, as he's sat out the whole season? Then what? And no, selling him for £130 million is not selling him on the cheap. Selling him on the cheap would be having to accept less than £100 million for him after he's been out all season and he's now down to the final two years of his contract.
-
Well there's only one team in for him, and so if the manager and his teammates want him gone, I doubt they care where he ends up, and so that's where he'll be going. Also, getting anywhere around £130 million instead of the £150 million fee we set as the starting point, is not selling him on the cheap.
-
Isak clearly downed tools at the end of last season, has a ropey groin and has acted like a bitch all summer. If some club is willing to pay £130 million plus for this clown, just maybe the manager would rather take the money and make the team even better than it has been with Isak. I think it's pitiful that even though the manager and his teammates look like they want him gone, there's people that still want to keep this guy and think he's just going to waltz back in and start scoring goals, and they'd actually be celebrating that. If the manager is ready to move him on, I hope he goes to Liverpool continues to have fitness issues, disrupts any momentum Ekitike may be building up and gets him in a strop, and the balance of their team gets thrown off even further because they're even more lopsided and defensively suspect.
-
He was the one that all the teams ahead of us wanted but they never went for him when we did because he was scoring 6 goals in Spain. Sick of this narrative that the club is lucky to have Isak and that he's irreplaceable. He was lucky we bought him and put him in position to perform at the level he did. I wish people would stop making out every striker we go for won't be good enough to replace Isak when every player we sign over achieves and does far better than anyone expects. When we bought Isak we got clowned for overspending for a striker that wasn't a goal scorer in Spain and yet here we are with people crying that we'll be doomed without him!
-
The way people come up with these ridiculous valuations out of thin air and then complain when Liverpool fans do the same and insist we should be happy with £110 million for Isak
